Modern wars are bullshit. I don't condone them, but don't understand why someone should be nice to the enemy - it's against everything soldiers represent? Russians won the WWII not because they wanted to restore democracy in Germany. They wanted revenge. They were made into those brainless killing machines fed on hate, but then you expect them to reason. It's just doesn't wash. That's why Talibans will never loose in Afghanistan, because they're driven by hate of the enemy and don't question their motives (you don't question your God's will). -
