cant really get rid of dents, such a shame. sorry.
-
• #53
fill the dent + small repsray?
annoying but it can be done for ££.
-
• #54
Looks like it'll have to be that then

Dent = Character
If you tell yourself that enough you might start believing it...

I go to Camberwell (live by Hermits Cave). I saw your bike the other day and specifically noted that's one of the nicest I've seen at Cwell. Sorry to hear that. Nice ride though.
-
• #57
Thanks Jake, very kind of you. Which bike is yours? Do you even bother riding in from there?
-
• #58
I feel your pain and you probably don't want to hear this..but...
If you really, really must lock your bike in public, you have to expect that one day, statistically speaking, you'll come out to find it dented, knackered or not there any more. I have a cheap but perfectly good bike reserved for this purpose. Save your decent bikes for good long rides when you can enjoy them.
Sorry for your loss though, sucks when it happens...

Not all of us can afford two bikes like you mister. Poor students you see..
-
• #60
get a really strong magnet and un-dent it with reverse dent technology.
-
• #61
If it's a steel frame is there not a way a decent framebuilder could cut out the small dented section of tubing and replace and weld in an undented section, or is that a stupid idea?
-
• #62
can you provide us a photo of how big the dent is?
-
• #63
at least you didnt have teenslain do a 'gnarly barspin' and smash your tt
-
• #64
my mercian tt is dented, apparently there is fk all you can do short of replacing the tube.
i dont see why it cant be done tbh, it just needs some kind of cylinder expanding wedge inside, connected to a rod which can be accessed by the head tube/seat tube. should be possible.
-
• #65
Or just fill the dent with brass and file/sand it so it's flush with the tube.
-
• #66
yeah but then u need to repaint it, not a prob if its black but any other colour and it would look nasty.
-
• #67
New tt would need a new paint too. Expanding wedge thing would be good but I don't think they exist.

Yeah I live in the top flat of my house so the time it takes me to get my bike down the stairs I could already be at college. On the occassions I do ride though I ride a black Roberts track with Dura Ace on Deep V's, Dura Ace cranks and risers. Although today took delivery of a Rourke which is red and merges into blue; the most hilarious paint job ever. You won't be able to miss it.

yeah it should tho.. what about expanding foam, i heard they sprayed that in a speed camera and it shattered it, must be tough stuff.

Stuff like this just makes me scared to lock my bike up anywhere, i go to 2 different six forms in Camden with known delinquent students (one of which had someone run into the school with a shotgun to avoid police(no one was hurt thankfully)). Ive had my tyres slashed twice and the paint on my handlebars scratched off, i really dont get why people do it..
la swap boys packin shotguns these days .. hehe

• #71
Yep, now everyday there a good few popo hanging around the school.
-
• #72
not ellis, burghley surely .. always been a bit rough, not as rough as some westminister schools tho! always found camden schools to be better, personally. better girls, too.
haverstock excluded.
-
• #73
What about South Camden?
-
• #74
yeah sccs too. worst school ever.

Thanks, im glad its upheld its title.
It was pretty fun there though.
Sure are, especially as I'm pretty certain it was malicious.
Is there any other way, aside from filling in and re-painting, to get rid of dents ?
