I asked for some spirit level bubbles but they laughed at me in local builders' merch.

moog I'm going to get some spares. If you decide you have a spot for one, it's yours. Don't think they're going to be very pricey, if Ray's deal was anything to go by.

That's the ting about spirit level bubbles, they are a closely guarded secret, you need to be persistent, they'll try and tell you they don't exist but they do. Make sure you ahve a good bag though as they are very heavy despite their small size.

  • Make sure you get the right ones too, wouldn't want to buy a horizontal bubble only to get home and find that you needed a vertical one.

  • I once sent a runner to a hardware shop to get some 'striped paint' as a joke.

He came back 30 mins later and said the guy in the shop had asked if he wanted horizontal or vertical . . . LOL!

  • Meeja runners, the new public school fags ...

  • Hahaha! You knowz it ;)

  • I'm liking those angled hooks (but dont you get nasty marks from the tyres rubbing against the wall?)

This is my current bike storage solution! :)

  • ^ Thats more like it!

  • I don't have much luck with hanging bikes. I was hanging a drying freshly painted frame in the stairwell once and my girlfriend brained herself on it

that only works for you because you can walk underneath them, it does look nice lik that i have to admit, but i would be precarious about knocking them off when putting one up. This is my solution, not as elegant gut works efficiently

  • 2.5mm-3mm thick galvanised steel...

    thats all im saying.

Great thanx, will be stainless steel for me!

  • would they work with spd's?

  • yes

  • I had one of these, and had to put a support for the front wheel on the wall as the bike wasn't balanced enough. It was a big old brute with heavy suspension forks though... many years ago!

I saw that in Current Projects. Looks really good. I don't have the floor space tho.
There's enough room to get the bikes in and out, they look closer in the pic.

You're building up a nice quiver sir.

Its tight i agree, but it had to be to have enough space, it can store 9 bikes, which is a lot for a space less than 2m wide. In my dream world bikes would have a room just for parking and the really pretty ones would be hung up on the ceiling to look at.

  • This

    makes me think of this

So you're not an engineer and you're not offering to make these? Bummer.

I may as well order some then, as you know that they're not exactly expensive from Keirincafe. I have ordered quite a few, they're almost all accounted for already but if anyone wants one or two they should let me know, only €7,50+shipping.

  • moog / anyone else

I have now flogged on the six spares I bought. I have a couple i haven't yet used, and might not use, though.

  • damn' i need 3 of them!!!!!!!

  • damn' i need 3 of them!!!!!!!if still available pm me please!!!

  • Sorry mate. I don't have three. As I said I kind of want to keep the other two spare I have in case I need them - might have to change how I've stored mine at the moment and need more.

The link for a mailorder shop in germany is up there, bike-mailorder.de I think it is. Worked out at about £8-9 quid including postage when I bought ten.

They're really good though, get some.

    Check it out:

  • ha, much as i like that, i can safely say that my girlfriend would hit the fucking roof if i tried that.

  • Snap- just sent her the photo and whilst she did not hit the roof I was left in no doubt that it would not be allowed.

However- there are other places in my pokey flat where this might work.

I presume one works out the bracket to wheel height by simply adding crank length to floor to centre of BB height?

i.e. how tall the section of masonry that one can use can be.

  • Anyone got one of these? a bit pricey but I quite like them
