just answer the fucking question, or don't you know?
-
• #53
HTFU and get up early. It's better to have extra time available at the end than to end up rushed.
-
• #54
look. it's a simple fucking question.
roughly.how.long.will.it.take.

• #55
5 hours? 6?
-
• #56
100k ride. With large hills. I'd say 6 Hours. Could be 5 with a small, quick group, but more likely to be 6 - 7 hours.
Which means early start, I'm afraid.

I've got to make it down from oxford!
earlier the better. -
• #59
9-fucking-hours?! Are you kidding? No, forum ride, of course not.
You don't mean L2B and then back do you? -
• #60
it is going to take 5.
hopefully.... -
• #62
Couldn't you tell.. I was 'leaving' you in front. I'm a wheelsucker from way back :P

nimbhus - gonna reccie (never know how to spell that) the ride next week. will have a better clue how long it will take, building in time for mechanicals, etc. i can't see it starting at 0800 though as quite a few of us will have to put 15 miles in just to get to the start point. good to get away early enough though to enjoy oxvoid.

Just go with reconnaissance - sounds SAS hard with an oxford magesticness
I voted Oysters but wanted the lamb!!

yeah, that's what i meant. i think you get a better turnout if the start time is slightly more accommodating. 11 am is too late, clearly, i was just pitching high.
of course we want to enjoy oxford when we get there, but the long light evenings help that no end..
oh and Jonny? be sure and check your PM, there's a good chap.

sorry nimbhus, had checked my pm and had put it to the only person i know who might have been up for it but is, alas, too busy. sorry dude - did mean to get back to you.
make sure you do this ride whether starting from richmond or wherever. nice one

I am totally up for an early start. If it takes as long as the Cambridge ride it is a shame to get there late. People should HTFU. I can't see the problem with getting up and out for 7 am!

Poor falling leaves. No one loves you

Yeah quit moaning nimby, a better turnout for a late start= "dead wood" (thanks pj for inspiration)
All HTFUCC will be there early. The rest can go and get a skinny soya latte.

I had a secret crush on falling leaves, and have now made the first move...

I took the very generic option number 4.
I'm not sure I'm quite ready for falling leaves but I'd happily drop some GI and give it a go. Be nice to put another long ride in before hand though. as I've not done more then 80miles in a day since last year.
just get out of your filthy pit early, you opulent pig
