• bloody London cyclists....

  • Sounds like a great ride. What happened to GreasySlag though?

  • there was a bit of a descent..

ok, quite a fast descent, a nice one, and there happened to be a hairpin halfway down, dogs and gs carried on off the blacktop and into the greenery, I think emil took a short soujourn into it too.

dogs was ok because he landed on his head, poor gs had a large lump on his shoulder where it had popped out, looked nasty as fuck but he carried it with aplomb

  • Great ride lads, gutted i didn't finish or get in to the racing at the end. still my ride peaked with the sights of Marlow and Dogs airbourne through the forest. complete blind superman! Surprising how easily you un-cleated there Dale :)

Shoulders stiffened by the time i got to A&E, didn't get it seen to till 6pm! So dosed up on pain killers went to the pub. back in to the fracture unit next week but they say i could be back in 3-4. its all good

Mike - It's my own fault, i was laughing at Murtle shouting "fuck it" as he hit the road makings while trying to slow up, then saw the pot holes late, didn't fancy taking the corner through those so pushed out left of them, giving me a tighter turn and pushing my line right tight to the bank and gravel. so my last attempt was to use the use the bank to get me out but it was lose top soil! Cnt
Pisser really as those bends were lovely!

Cheers for the assistance at Marlow lads, much appreciated.

  • ohhh,

sounds like a missed a good day out.

    well done guys and girls.

  • man sounds epic... good stuff johnny et al.

  • that was a good ride out - chapeau mr Jonny

heal up quickly GS, I'm not a medical man but I don't think your shoulder should stick out quite like that :^]

    the last 15 miles were a blast…

good company, quiet roads - always good to roll with LFGSS

    the big fella

  • Did you dislocate your shoulder then? Happened to me last year. Fucking horrible.

I take it our hill climbing ride is off for a while then? I am on my way out now to check out the route

  • nice ride! well done to all - and muchos thanks to Jonny of course.
I felt pretty lame on the last stretch.. aero tuck made me numb.. :-O
But the dreaming (gleaming?) spires were calling out..
GrassySlag all the best - you're hard as!

  • Must say thanks to jonny for organising it all and doing the reccy run earlier, it certainly made for a smooth ride. Thanks to Murtle for setting such a cracking pace and thanks to everyone for keeping up (well almost) and not getting punctures.

Special thanks though to Pip. Of all the places you could have come off and dislocated your shoulder, you chose to do it just outside of Marlowe on Regatta day, giving us a lovely 30 min rest surrounded by all the hot young things of Buckinghamshire. Well done sir. Oh, and heal up.

  • seb, you showed a commendable attitude, rolling in with the tunes on, all mellow.

in contrast to some of our more...quick tempered members..

nimhbus must have slaughtered about 30,000 pedestrians in the outskirts of oxford city centre.

they'll be counting their dead this morning...

    Ha! indeed, they deserved it.

i got home way past midnight, and i have ARSE-BLISTERS, the skin is raw and broken.
anyone want to buy a brooks swallow, going cheep?

  • nice ride everyone. we totally owned those dreaming spires yesterday.

cheers to all for tipping up in good spirits and ready to put some rubber down. great turn out.

nice one 31trum on being the lgfss superdomestique and getting the pace up so we could get on our way.

good to see so many familiar faces and a fair few new ones out there too, popping their slightly longer ride cherry - always good to do it on a flat route ;)

greasy my boy, what to say, i think rpm said it best when he said you carried that broken body with aplomb into marlow. hope that heals quick dude.

good to have the CS Groupetto fast boys, hippy, fatboyralph, BDWayne out there with full groupo. and BMMF, dogsballs, HDSA, thanks for your wheels on that final leg.

nice session and banter on train back. lebowski, we missed you there dude, well i missed my red friend you were carrying in your bag ;)

til the next one guys. see you out there on the blacktop again soon.

    yee fucking haw

  • You rock dude!

  • Jolly Good Show Chaps.

  • This thread needs pictures!

Sounded like a great day out. Bad luck though, GS.

    +1

I spent some of yesterday glassing a window so it wasn't all bad.

get some proper shorts or bibs and use chamois creme
rapha fixed shorts are useless for riding that kind of distance

i'm surprised there are not more complaints of aching wrists, necks and arses. riding slave/clown bikes that only have one hand/back position and wearing jeans is not conducive to a comfortable ride when doing 5hrs in the saddle.

  • I have a bruised feeling rear :O

Partly lack of miles recently, partly more 'track-oriented' saddle, but mainly paying the price for sitting down hard and letting hippy come past me on the big climb ;)

    using his gears…

  • I've only got myself to blame. Didn't go fast enough to begin with (very out of character), got completely bored with it before the end (very in charact

    Seriously wanna sell it?

    .

    oh fuck off.

    a. i wasn't wearing rapha shorts.

    b. i was wearing padded undershorts.

    c. no one else has bleeding arses, therefore that saddle does not work for me. it's going. over-priced retro crap.

  • Seriously wanna sell it?

    yup
