does anti puncture tape work, and if so, which one is recommended? I have some lovely tyres, with hideous puncture protection and want to fix that

I have "dækindlæg" in all of my wheels - I'm ok with loosing 1 Watt.

Thay work. Better than puncture resistant tyres. And nice tyres remain almost as nice with tape in them.

I've been thinking about turning my cross-bike into a 1x10 or perhaps even a 1x1, it's a Ridley Crosswind with a Campy Centaur 10 speed gruppo.

And now the pedal thread on my left crank (square tapered) is bodged (I don't wanna talk about it) so I figured that might be a good opportunity for changing going 1x1/10, I can get a new crank-set for €50 but I'm willing to spend more if I necessary.

What would be the best route to go 1x10 without spending a shit-ton of money? What would I get for a battered set of Centaur shifters and front and rear derailleurs? Is 1x1 on vertical drop-outs doable or will it be a chain dropping mess?

This is my Look. Got new wheels, need black tyres, not sure about the orginal seatpost but better then in-line one. Seatpost is 25mm. Cleaned all drivetrain, will need new headset, bartape, chain, chainrings, cassette. And need to go for road pedals
