finds quotes on how long JB's 'dale will last
looks lovely though, ride nicer than the dale?
-
• #95854
Haven't ridden it. I've always, since the day I got it, said the dale was a stop gap frame until something I wanted popped up.

Winter disguise.
You need to do more other than just junk miles on this. You're planning to build up some mileage going into the winter?
-

I'm going to be in amazing shape as winter starts.

I noticed some big weekly mileage!
Do loads of 'cross and peak in time for... er Christmas.

What do you mean? (genuine question btw)
I have a winter/everyday commuter bike that I used for festive 500 last year (plus more winter mileage). I am thinking of using this more this year; all year round if possible. I have already put 400+ miles (no commuting involved) and it rides incredibly well.

You realised that the brakes is underneath the bike, right? and you intend to take it into the deep dark of the English winter?

Built this today.
Thanks to London Bike Kitchen for showing me how to press a PF bottom bracket and lending me their hacksaw. Very helpful.

-
• #95865
No idea. Around 8kg at a guess. Wheels aren't particularly light and all components are alloy.

Maintaining low HR whilst powering through Christmas dinners+pudding+pies. Yum. As good as any reason to ride a bike.

It looks like you'll have the kit to race next year, I gather that's the intention?
If so, you'll want to be doing some regular riding (not short commuting rides).

Standard r500 a better choice over the bladed ones?
-
• #95875
No, the plain gauge spokes are a bad idea, pay the extra for the butted spokes.
Looks awesome, even the tyres don't look too out of place.
