About racing dunno really; training to be fast (and light if I may say) atm
Who give a flying fuck? you don't need a reason to ride a Madone with deep HED3 rims.
Just ride the fucking thing.

Obvious next (noob) question is obvious; which one? I live in SW London; there are few here .. definitely not dynamo as they ride like twats in richmond :P
Kingston Wheeler, Hounslow & District Wheeler, Willesden Cycling Club, CS Grupetto to name but a few...
Liked to join a club, but work weekends.
-

All of those clubs ride midweek, Ed.
Gruppetto doesn't have new members, IIRC - they're not exact an inclusive club.
Amey - there's also Twickenham.
-
• #94509
I've forget about Twickenham, good shout.
So Gruppetto is more of an elite club then?
midweek might work, but I like having a Sunday ride rather than an afterworker (which I already do with my commute).

Elitist, as opposed to elite, I'd say...
-
• #94511
TW2 since you are local are you part of any clubs around there?
-
• #94512
I've looked, but not joined. Twickenham and Kingston seem ok, but you should have a few rides with them, and see how you get on.

• #94513
Sort out the white shit around the headtube area and that would be quite alright.
-
• #94514
I like the pedals. B-)
Is there a full Swastika on the new HED disc then?
(joke liek)
Tis a nice biek?

Was about to buy the Kojaks in 1.35" but it says load - 90kg? That a max?
-
• #94516
Hmmm, I'm out TW15 and never really given much thought about clubs, but could do with extra motivation and push with fitness.
Lack of car to get to rides and refusal to wear lycra without something over it are sticking points however.

Max per tyre, so if you're riding a road bike with drops, 40% of your weight including bike and gear to front tyre, and 60% to rear I think.

Wierdly I'd say do that then switch the saddle and seat post for white ones. Although I'm guessing the seat post is proprietary and the saddle is too expensive to replace for aesthetic reasons.
Are the brakes those funny shimano ones with mounts or special Trek ones?
Good luck with the club joining and racing.

I know some Kingston Wheelers riders. They like their club. It's a traditional club in that it will take anyone to whatever level they want which gets a massive thumbs up from me. They have an active racing contingent and support their riders. I'm not sure if they host a race, but then neither do most of London's 'racing team' club alternatives.

LOL at Grupetto 'elitist'.
-
• #94521
Needs a better shot without grammy I reckon.
Suggestions for a seatpost? 27.2mm [broke it in the weekend]

Trek's, hopefully they sorted out the problem with their previous brakes where the bolt could come loose and suddenly find yourself with no braking power.
-
• #94523
Kingston Wheelers was the club I was looking into originally mainly due to their choice of post-ride pub ; )
The braking is fine so far with bontrager brakes (swisstop pads and compressionless housing); if I find it (or it becomes) shit over time I'll look into either 105 or ultegra direct mount brakes.

Rode with Twickenham CC during the HoTN last year, really nice bunch.

You only need to change the brake pads, not the entire fucking thing.
Brixton CC ?
