  • I bought this from philgresty. It's a 14bikeco 14r, 853 steel with a carbon fork.

    Since this is meant to be a cheap, saving my money month, I had to get signoff from the wife before purchase.

    Got a few bits and a few bits to buy, but the plan is to make it my nice weather city fast bike. Cannot wait to get it out on the road. Thinking I might need to borrow some bits from the Brooklyn for a test ride.

  • Yeah looks dead nice Thrust. Damn you and your fritzel bike cave... my wheels were taken from the back of my house, hence Nag sale... cant leave owt outside...

    Ouuf, theiving c*nts! A cave is good to have even though it's 10 min from where you live.

    On the subject of the Bardini;
    I want a good set of pedals that doesn't harm my trainers.
    Would the GR-9 pedal and the brb plastic double clips with ditto double freestyle straps be good enough not to tear through my shoes at any rate?

    Needs a better shot without grammy I reckon.

  • Needs a better shot without granny I reckon.

  • So this is finally happening:

  • Just a little slide show, but we already have a problem with the order...

  • what's the problem?

  • Cracked frame?

  • Two issues really: one is the headset cap, which I initially wanted the zero/plane stem setup not the 15mm they installed (granted they have included it separately in the other boxes) but the second thing which is more noticeable is that I ordered this bike with the VCLS 2.0 seatpost and they gave me the standard one instead.

    Overall I'm really happy with the rest of the bike andI'm not in a rush to ride this yet, but this is just another setback to another thing that I've been looking forward to be another disappointment.

  • Easy fix no?

  • headset cap isn't a problem, seatpost sound like a cock-up, just send them an email about it, refund the difference, or swap it.

  • There is a good karma on this one, enjoy it.

  • Done. Email sent and just annoying that actually got the stem plane top cap headset in a separate box, which I will have to ask someone to install properly and if I do I would have to cut the steerer and would this void the warranty?

    But Ed your right the seatpost is a cock up, but they didn't cock up the money the took out of my account. You might have a point in regards to the seatpost and maybe keeping the standard on is probably the best solution and most of the lastest crack on this frameset is caused by the stress of the vcls 2/0 seatpost itself.

  • You'll need to take it to a bicycle shop to ensure it's PDI properly either way, however good Canyon set it up.

  • Cheers Ed, will just wait for their response now and we will go from there.

  • Ugh- sorry to hear that you've had more issues mate, really hope you get to ride it soon.

  • stem plane top cap headset

    What even is this? A lower top-bearing cover.....?

  • I'm conflicted about this.

  • tbh I probably can ride the new gal tomorrow (after charge and setup) but I just to know that everything is covered before I hit the road.

  • Hoke, the bike is here, it's only a few tweak away from riding.

  • What even is this? A lower top-bearing cover.....?

    This is what I wanted:

    And this is what I received:

  • You'll need to take it to a bicycle shop to ensure it's PDI properly either way, however good Canyon set it up.

    pdi = properly dialed in?

    That's bullshit, you don't need to take it to a bike shop to check it all. It just needs a once over by someone who knows what they are doing, of which there are many on this forum.

  • Agree, but it might be worth someone with experience with di2 to go over it rather than just jumping in, from what I've heard though di2 almost sets itself up?

    It does seem a rubbish that Canyon have had all these fuck ups, it seems that something like a hongfu is a viable alternative, abeilt their warranty is probably not as good as Canyons. Thinking about it actually, are there many other industries where recalls are such common place?

  • ^^^ I see, allowing lowest possible stack.
