Like a summer job?
The worst thing about the Pinarello is that he painted it and left all the Braze-ons ON!
Thats like half killing a puppy and then letting it limp across a desert to die of dehydration.he going to get some red Pinarello decal to put on his bike.
icing on the cake methinks?

In the past couple of days I've gone a bit mad.
I just bought 3pairs of rims and hubs, a load of spokes, and 8 tyres.
not too mention last week i bought the shiny wheels from 14.
I'm going to build them all up, decide which ones I like and which ones I can pass on out of:
Gran compe x omega 19 box
Gran compe x omega V
On one x FIR SG30 (V)
Profile x open pro CD
Sys Ex x DP18 Shiny
and undoubtedly for sale:
Tub wheelset (mavic montherley i think + Maillard hubs- thought I could use them, not the case)(@ todd- that is why I had to pass up on the hubs, more wheelsets than just one had to be built.
the gran compes and the on ones came to roughly that price.)
hmmm....
just thought I'd share. -

Just picked this up of Fruitbat
Plan is to strip and respray it (or powdercoat if I can shoehorn more money) black with either white or silver lug lining
oh come on - that bike is gorgeous - just needs some love. that paint scheme rules.
dont powdercoat it - you'll ruin it & make it look like every other hipster bike.
If I had the money, I'd buy it off you & carefully restore it & put a period correct group on it. I'd really love to have a sweet vintage road bike, so all of this talk about powdercoating it black is just sad.

I've finally finished* a restoration for a friend I've been working on for the last six weeks.
*it still awaits a nicer saddle (Brooks B57 preferably) and a 13" white pump, but I'm out of buget now.
The entire restoration cost approx. £210 in parts, including a rare find square taper Thompson bottom bracket shipped all the way from the US.
Anyhow, this is what you can make for as little as two hundred quid and own labor in building it. Hope the guy I've built it for likes it as much as I do... it's a real head turner when you ride round town.

i'tll look good when it's done... what forks are they?Yup i got it off DMC and it had a seized post - 1200 degrees of heat and some hired muscle later it was free . . .
The forks i spotted in the corner at Mend A Bike in Fulham when i was collecting the frame after they had removed the seatpost - no idea what they are but got em for a tenner so a right result!
The stem was a fiver in the Halfords bargain bin, other bits are just odds i had lying around

He's still making frames I think. He's based in somewhere like Sutton, certainly in south London somewhere.
yes Cliff Shrub is still building bikes; about a month ago there was someone riding on the track @ Herne Hill on a 953 frame that was bare metal at the back with fillet brazing on display with a white fade to the front of the frame.
On Sunday there was a ladies 953 road Cliff Shrub also locked up at HH. Totally bare metal with clearcoat. Also lovely.
