It's arrived! Sadly all I could get done today was to fit the cranks - and I nearly lost a thumbnail doing that. MegaExo cranks into an Ultegra BB are a tight fit, it turns out.

Have been working on this 1950's 650B Rochet of late: Just put a 4 speed simplex derailleur on it.
Need to track down a 24.5 seat post. any clues?
Also, i want to find some fatter tires. These were the largest i could find, They came from France. Not really up for spending £100 for a pair of Grand Bois. Any fat(larger that 44mm) budget suggestions? -

Well Lads, that's my beast there, only got her very recently. After realising the TT is too long :(
Just wondering would a smaller stem and compact bars be an acceptable option, stem is currently 110mm. I be needin around i'd say a 50-60mm taken from that.
and do compact bars and modern/short stem look daycent on old frames?
Is it a flexibility issue? Because looking at the height you have the bars there, a shorter/smaller frame is going to look odd with so much exposed quill. If you can work on your flexibility, do it!

the size and price is right, but wouldn't mind something that is in keeping with the age of the build. something a little retro looking.

it wouldn't be a flexibility issue as im down really low as it is. The bars don't go any lower, I tried lowering them but Nada, there at there limit that's why I was wondering if a shorter stem would be accceptable. I kinda need'em to come back Horizontally(30mm) and and down a bit vertically (15mm). I was actually thinkin about getting the angle grinder out and cutting 10-20mm off the stem's bottom but I think it's smarter to just get a new stem.

I only just got it.
That was sub-Oliver, and that's really saying something.

I think the chainring and crank decals are pretty ugly, but I like the shape of the cranks and chainring, and it was much cheaper than SRAM or decent Shimano would have been, and lighter than any sub-Force SRAM as well.
The frame is amazingly light, the fork unfortunately weighs about the same.

Gives you room for an upgrade! I'd love one of the 853 Day-One's

What options would there be for carbon road disc forks? Not many according to Genesis, which is why they say they supply it with the steel fork, but I'd be keen to see what's out there.
(Not Enve).

Kinesis I believe are often mentioned

They're pretty steep for alloy steerer, also found some Lynskey ones for £199.99!
Is full carbon not an option/not common/deadly for disc forks?
-
• #92720
Not that it's something I really need to think about having just bought the bits and pieces for this and my track bike.

Absolutely not although finding them in non-tapered steerer is hard

and yokozona cables .. why?
-
• #92723
Because everyone keeps banging on about compressionless housing and it seemed well-regarded.
Why not?

Also the discs didn't feel great on the Pompetamine so I wanted to make sure this time round I was doing everything I could to optimise performance.
Had So It Goes on repeat for the last few weeks. The beat change on Snow Beach is the best thing I've heard in a while.
