Mad props to Apollo for building it for me!

Rims soon to be destickered, don't worry about that.
Ah, they're removable? Bonus.
Is it going to have mudguards?
-
• #92230
It is, it was designed with clearance for full mudguards and with all the braze ons! I wanted options so the bike can do lots of things. Next decision is bottle cages.. ti ones would be nice..

My new titanium Burls.
Bringing it to SE tonight, yeah?
(I think its just the photo, but the bars/levers look huge compared to everything else in that pic - as if they've been chopped on)

Apollo building it
It's about time Apollo built a decent bike.

Haha, not riding through strike traffic on it, don't trust the wobbly hoards!
I think the apparently big bars/levers is perspective.. fatherted.gif

The geo comes up a little big. Thats a 56 and I kinda wish I went for the 54. I had to fit a 90mm stem compared to my normal 120mm
You realise that you could probably run a 110mm +/- 6deg stem without changing the overall reach and the bike would probably handle better.

So my headset area started creaking really badly, so i'm cleaning it and regressing it, looking for causes, pretty worried about the look of my fork, cleaned all the grime off, could this be causing the creak? is it even safe?

My new titanium Burls. Ultegra 6800, Shimano RS31 wheels, Chris King headset, 3T finishing kit, Selle Italia Diva ladies saddle (fugly but hopefully comfy!). Pedals are temporary, probably going with speedplays. Rear brake temporary, need to source a longer drop ultegra brake caliper.
I'm in love.
Lovely!
Are those ergonovas? What was the lead time from Burls?
Also; needs better photos. -
• #92238
They are ergonovas. Lead time was between 6-7 weeks.
It was only finished at gone 9 last night, better photos will be taken soon.

are you implying the geo chart is wrong?
More likely that stack and reach are better fit measurements than top tube length (or worse still seat tube length)

Did you replace the cranks or attack them with paint stripper?
bit of leccy tape over all the shit on the crank arm, and a little bit of black paint.
CAAD10 envy. Gonna race on it?
Yeah definitely, that's the main reason I bought it

Just the Black Campagnolo Pista, Super toughness and pedals and its done.
-
• #92242
That's some serious slave pr0n.

Possible crack underneath the paint? Those lines in the paint on the left looks consistent with those of bent tubes i.e. following a crash etc.

The angle of the fork dosn't look crashed at all, and i haven't crashed the bike since i owned it, definitely doesn't look good though.
maybe worth sanding down the paint a bit to look for a crack?

Good job - nothing really wrong with those gossamer BB30s

i reckon before you get the sandpaper out you get it checked by a reputable mechanic. maybe it was the headset or whatever and you've fecked up the paint for nowt.
those lines do look suspicious though...
poor viv

But it would increase the stack.

lines dont look good. ride it with a different fork on and see if the noise persists?
Rims soon to be destickered, don't worry about that.
Thanks BN!
