TT and ST is max; rest isnt
Dont know what you are paying for it but it looks like a decent frame. The forks are max and are pretty pricey to get them made.

It's a great price anyway, whatever the exact mix of tubing used.
Just don't sit on it without a seatpost.

So what are you thoughts?
This is super. How is the ride compared with 700c? Any change in the handling?
I've moved to these wheels from Sputniks and Durano 25mm tyres (80/85psi).
The wheels feel like climbing wheels! They're light and have significantly less inertia. They spin-up quickly but don't hold speed. Climbing steeply is a dream. I'm running 50/60psi currently and traction is (as you would expect) just perfect. The tyres are slick so will have limitations off road.
Pedalling through patches of rough road (where before I'd be forced to back off) is nice. I'm quite light, so usually get thrown around a fair bit piling over rutted roads. Keeping a bit more control is going to be great on night rides in the wet. There is a lack of vibrations through the bike that I think will be good on all-day rides.
I have made other changes. I've gone from deep, traditional 40cm wide drop bars to wider 42cm compact bars so I can descend in the drops and cover the brakes. Add the plush tyres and it goes downhill really nicely. Descending is so chilled it maybe feels slower? I'll have to see how times compare.
The frame has always been pretty lively – which is why it's always handles best with longer stems and bigger tyres. With the bb sitting 10mm (IIRC) lower now there is slightly less trail again. It's totally stable at speed (better than ever with compact drops) but I've noticed it will 'wander' across the road if you're looking over your shoulder, messing around in your pockets, taking off a jacket etc.
tl:dr
yeah it's a better bike.

cheers guys, that's what I thought as well, it's gonna have enough seatpost showing anyway ;)
don't dig the paint job really, but jumped on it since there generally seemed no interest for it, probably gonna be a project for 2015! in the meantime I'll just try to get some info on it, as quick googling does't seem to bare much results..

It still looks perfectly proportioned as well. Good work.

Christ I'm slow at building bikes. 'On the cheap, but still half decent MTB' as it stands (forks aren't pumped up yet).
Annoyingly, I discovered that the previous owner has seemingly used a 27.0 post and crushed the seat tube a little, meaning I can't get the proper 27.2 in there now. Going to phone, the LBS tomorrow and see if they can ream it. The bash guard will probably come off as it doesn't seem like it's going to be compatible with the chain guide.
It's light! Admittedly half of it's missing though.
Bit scared of setting up disc brakes, although this guide on trimming hoses seems like it will come in very handy and means I won't have to do a full bleed just yet: http://www.epicbleedsolutions.com/blog/shorten-shimano-hoses-without-bleeding/

Frame isn't columbus max, forks are.
Would you care to elaborate before I make the payment :)? The frame is a mix of MAX and something else?

The DT looks like megatube, same as my orlowski.
The stays look like they're zona though.

Descending is so chilled it maybe feels slower? I'll have to see how times compare.
That's the downside of being told that road buzz = fast for decades, it take quite a while to get used to the lack of road buzz that make it feel like you're going slower.
It took me quite a while with the 42mm tyres, it wasn't until I wack a computer on that show my average speed is about the same, sometime a little higher on hilly route.

Well, I knew the fork is max for sure, as they all look the same. That downtube seemed odd but it also had a feeling I saw it on some nice bikes here (your orlowski being the example). The top tube on mine slopes the wrong way though ;)
So - max, megatube, zona, it´s like a columbus lottery ticket ;)

I came in .4 kph slower than usual on a 90km, 1100m elevation tempo ride but that really means nothing as there are too many other factors at play.
What is nice is people look at it and expect the bike to be slow. But it isn't!

Just won the auction on E-bay for this (my offer was 203,- Euro and it went for 201,-). Seems like a good price for MAX? It´s 49 cm ST and ca. 57 cm effective TT since it´s a compact geometry frame. I´m pennyless at the moment so need someone to acknowledge this rather impulsive buy!
Nice buy, fame will look great.

Hmm I'm not seeing any taper on that TT. It's also missing the 'thick' chainstays and flattened seatstays. Can't tell if the ST is max or not (not noticing a taper).

Dedacciai Zero?

for comparison most of these Orlowskis's were built with Zero and Max forks

Tried to spot mine but it's not there, it's definitely all max apart form the DT though.
