I've not used them on bike parts - but have repaired threads in an engine block with them before.
For a purely tensile loading in a part which would cost hundreds of pounds to replace, they're an OK stop-gap.

Both those levers are cack. Anything modern with a narrow clamp?
How risky would something like this be?

on a different subject
I just returned from the dentist, and what I found particularly galling about this experience was the "triathlon bike buyers guide" on the waiting room coffee table...
I had the strong impression that after peering into my gob the dentist's aspirations moved from the rather mundane "industry standard" Cervelo on page 17 to the Storck on page 62
I guess I'll find out when I get the bill. -

Sry spam. But have finally had the chance to take it out on some longer rides in the warm(ish) weather. Some small changes. New stronger wheels, and put some King Cages and this nifty little bar bag on. Perfect for holding the jacket, phone, camera and such.
POV.

^ cheers
considering getting a cheap solid wheel build to put cross tyres on cos changing tyres is an effort
Good luck finding 9/16"×20tpi, and I wouldn't use helicoils for pedals anyway, the loads don't seem like they'd suit something bendy.
Park have a procedure (but not parts) to sort out the problem a more convincing way, but they correctly say
