So I got these thumb shifter adapter things from Velo Orange to use with my indexed Chorus down-tube shifters. The right one didn't work because the indexed shifter has too large a radius to fit the adapter but the left shifter (friction) is smaller so fit.
It's a bit of a bodge but I've manged to get rid of the down-tube shifters and turn the bike in to a thumbie machine. I think I need to get some proper thumbies and be done with it. Single ring up front will happen once the new cranks arrive.
I also added new headset (Campag Record) and some long drop brakes from Tektro (R359) which are absolutely amazing. Really, really good. I was completely surprised by them.

Tektro are always great brakes, I was also surprised by how good the even longer drop version as I was expecting a lots of flex.

I've got issue getting all that crap on the bars as the hand section is only 145mm long before the bend.
I've just ordered some cork grips at 120mm but that only leaves me 25mm for brake lever + shifter or bell
Anyone got a view on a brake lever with a narrow clamp???
-
• #89838
Inverse brake lever.
Or one of those as the clamp is pretty thin and narrow, had one on the old bike, work pretty well;

Hi everyone
I found out I stripped a pedal thread on my track bike so unless I can get it re threaded?
I need a new crankset, suggestions? budget around 100 pounds new or used -
• #89840
You can't, get new crankset.
Velosolo have a Lasco crankset for under £50 that work pretty well.
Check BB length to your thought.
-
• #89841
£100 will get you an On-One external BB or some second hand Omnoms if you sell the chainring.
Sack Lasco off.

Spent the past few days updating my stable,
first is fun commuter, noting particularly fascinating about it
the rear wheel will not die... through 2 danish winters with no services..
It does look fun!
This used to be mine years ago, the only non steel frame I've ever had. Not for me, so didn't keep it too long.
Down tube and top tube have amazing shape though. -
• #89843
Both those levers are cack. Anything modern with a narrow clamp?
-
• #89844
New wheels for the Samson
Need to change those tyres to the newer/cleaner pair on the other set of wheels.

Tychom >>>>Rad ! 32...
Tubular brakless hummm, got a pair of omega 32H clincher NOS is you want. -

It's a rebranded Monoc track frame with different forks.
I have a road frame for sale branded as a GB with the same tubes, and have seen a couple of the track frames about. Wharry had one, and one of the Leeds guys has one.

You have a downtube shifter on the handlebar, you're as cack as they come.
