Have you seen these LDG hubs?
Price is for a set.

See my comments on the previous page:
Livery Design Gruppe
seemingly not available anywhere or only in places that don't offer UK shipping
I already looked into it, LDG dont ship to europe and the only other place I could find them, fixed gear frenzy, don't have them in stock.
Plus I need two sets, one in 32h and one in 36h.

Were you thinking of the Halo fix G?
Fix-g, WI Eno (non eccentric) or Victoire hubs all offer spline + lockring. These were also made a while back but lockring may interfere with cog as it was designed originally for addition of disc, not cogs: http://urbanvelo.org/montano-velo-fixed-hub-disc-adapter/
Yes there is. The axle gets pushed both ways riding fixed.
Wouldn't it get pushed both ways if you ran SS/hub gear with a disc brake? Applying forward force when pedalling, "backwards" when braking?

Don't they all use a different cog system? The reason like ISO is that its an international standard, as shown already, plenty people make the cogs. I don;t want to buy something that only one person makes and then they decide to stop making it leaving me high and dry.
Also the WI seem to be only in 136mm and didn't mechamorgan say that he was distinctly unimpressed by the victoire build quality? -

You could always future proof it by buying a bunch of cogs...

meh, seem i'd be paying to back myself into a corner still

One rather flexible approach might be....
If you can procure a surly rear hub hardware kit
and an M10x1 Rear axle you can use any front MTB hub that has cartridge bearing ID 12.0mm
I used DaBomb, but there are plenty of other options from Hope, Ringle, DMR, DT, Commencal etc
Just had a look at Commencal - they offer ISO front hubs with fully threaded axles - you'll only need longer axle and a couple of spacers.
Seems like an easy solution and crazy cheap at 60% off -

Considering the amount of faff with getting the correct bolt on solution, shirly you're better off just using normal threaded hubs'n'cogs? I've not had a problem with this system and I change sprockets all the time.

No idea about the hub quality, have only seen their recent polo frames and spotted hubs while looking for a 48h front disc hub (also tricky to find)

Rick - thats the best answer yet, I may have some questions for you.
Lowpug - good for you, I've had problems, hence me using this system, which i've found to be much better.
**Andy ** - I'd rather stick with the shimanos that go to that, thanks for all the information though.

Ah, missed that.
.....fixed gear frenzy.....
Don't use this store whatever happens. They're dodgy.

I guess it would to a lesser degree. And it would be 'down' (rather than backwards) when braking. I've not known anyone use a QR SS with discs on anything but a vertical dropout frame.

Spatr's skidz are too mad for normal threaded systems, I've seen the results. He's a stripper.
What happened to your normal Shimano disc hub method?

I actually really like the idea of a bolt on system, and attempted to do a wheel build this way but got sick of the changing standards/unavailablity of parts etc. guess I'm lazy! That and already having all the tools, spare lock rings and cogs. What RVL posted is a nice solution.

As I said, the shimano's work fine, I just would like something that doesn't rely on loose bearings and cones. Plus the one on my bruiser keeps coming loose, no matter who tightens it.

I was thinking along the lines of the Surly Ogre/Troll/Krampus e.g.
Looks a bit busy but it's horizontal ends, hub gear, tuggnut and QR all bundled together.

Neoretro Merckx Winter Beater.
Nice.
Needs black RD, and possibly stem and seatpost, can't decide. Or maybe everything should be silver...

Before anyone suggests the Shimano XT M756
I've already used these on three wheels sets, and i'm never totally happy with them, hence me wanting something a bit posher.
Any particular reason why you weren't happy with them? I've got a couple of cheapy Deore versions which I'm planning to use for rear wheels, so I'd be interested in your experiences with the XTs.

See my comments above to tommmmmmm, there is nothing wrong with them, I'd recommend them. I just wanted sealed bearings

So you did. Cheers!

It needs the slight mismatch so you know it's a beater, otherwise it looks dangerously close to someone's Sunday best!
I like the silver stem and post, it matched the forks. Lovely build all in all

Spotter - can't you get XH or Nhatt to sort you out with the LDG hubs?
-
• #88975
I hadn't thought of that, good point. I'd still need a 36h hole set. However if i've understood what Rik is saying, I may well have a world of options open to me now.
So I could get the Ultra front disc hub with the 120mm axle from triton for £120 and then get the front non disc from Jenson USA for about £40 + tac
I wonder what sort of chainline the 120mm conversion would give?
I'll shoot surly an email
