Cheers,
Will go the half link route (if I can find a shop that will post to France for less than twice the price of the item!).
Going to get my tyres sorted once I find out what the french for anti puncture tape is....
I think i'll keep the stem for now. Need to ride it before making any more purchases...

Hippy I am honoured. Asumming that you are talking about my bike.
I am getting old and I was fed up with following trends and I wanted a bike that I would actually ride. And the Surly is getting ridden a lot.
My mate is rocking a Carradice saddle bag and the old git in me is crying out to get one too. My 30th is only a month away so maybe that is the time to get one.I was talking about your bike. I turned 30 recently so I'm officially now a grumpy old bastard as opposed to just a grumpy bastard. It makes me dream of rolling through the country side in random lands with minimal kit, enjoying the scenery, loving life.. fade to camp fire and stories of the war..

I think it'll be a while until it's 'rideable' again, so our Rourke Lo Pro ride (think daisy chains and riding through the Surrey hills holding hands) will have to go on hold. :(
sniff
i'll keep a candle burning for you... and one for your bike.(pic will be with ya this week)

I wonder if 'rocking' is a bit strong. I prefer 'folking' a Carradice.

Well any time you fancy rolling through the quiet lanes of Norfolk. Give me a shout.
Yes Rich I agree rocking may have been a bit strong. I am still a little envious of the Carradice though..

here's a 3/32 half link for £2.99 in the uk http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Unbranded-Chain-Half-Link-3-32-Inch--Each-6982.htm hope it helps. Running a 1/8 half link would mean you'd have to stretch the 3/32 chain out to accomodate it which I can imagine isn't fantastic, though I have done it myself :p

hey...
this is my new bike/frame that I bought to sell...though now it sits in my room...I'll have to keep it....meh...though it's lush and weighs nothing for a steely...though the downside is I have to tart up 3 bmx's to raise the funds...
this is joe waugh...here....\/...he's fiiiine...
can't get the foto to load....it's in the photos thread...second down...
and has anyone info on it? and yes I have searched...and there is sweet fa....
it has an almost nos 105/mavic ma front...
will have a dura ace crank...the old one with the cast logo and flutes...un 71? bb...
an ancient? gian robert seat pin...3ttt stem...and tange headset...
and the back wheel is to be sourced...does anyone have a flip flop or similar hub/rim combo that is suitably old?...I don't want it to be new...I like things with 'patina'...I'm looking on ebay...though it's as well to ask here...
pia
ps...I will need to touch up the paint...which is creamy white pearlescent...does anyone know who'd mix some...?

After blood, sweat and tears I've finally finished converting my Pashley from the ground up. Felt that doing it all myself was the only way to do it but boy have I had my fair share of frustration with it. Just had to bring it back from Italy so let me give it a little clean and I'll put the pictures up.

2 rides under construction for the trip home.
The Kona is gonna be single speed, running mtb hub from velosolo with basic rigida powdercoated 700c rims. http://www.velosolo.co.uk/shophub.html, some basic shimano disc's and rigid fork, that marzzochi is gonna be for sale and is in great cond
and some chilled bars from http://www.freshtripe.co.uk/Freshtripe/Bendy%20Bits_files/Tourist%20Bar-1.jpg
with a brooks basket on front, a la surly 1x1 search flickr "bikeloop".pwedercoat not sure on the colour yet, wife's ride so she'll have to choose that.
The other is a Bob Jackson track bike with just bits stripped of me mates shitty dawes frame, just to give me an idea of what she looks like at moment. Lots to do here, most is going to be classic stuff but cheap parts for now as my best mate in oz has a grandad who's raced for 50 yrs and well, lets say he has some serioulsy classic stuff in his shed in great condition - so gonna really kit it out when i get backhome. Also got some stuff going on with the bmx but save that for lates.
any recommendations??

Ruggers, netball, touch and afl represented but no other sports i know off?? should so a ride and drinbks for kiwi's and aussies and remind the empire there would be no empire without our forefathers efforts!!!!
