I might have gone for Deda 215's (for the flat transition / ergo bends) and a less impotent-looking stem, but other than that you're getting full marks from me!
How are the Omega Vs for braking?

Pompino arrived, threw a few bits onto it. Need to order a few canti bits and a seatclamp and it should be good to go. Respray is on hold due to no monies so having to contend with blue frame and brown forks for the time being.
Any advice on setting up cantis btw? I feel so clueless.

my other master has same stem, hence my choice

^^my advice for canti setup would be to put them in the bin and get some mini Vs. But that's because I am clueless.
Can anyone offer and advice on a carbon fork for my surly pacer. I'm worried the transition from headset to fork may be a problem.

Columbus minimals are the usual choice for classic looking frames.

Specifically my Shimano BR-R353 Mini-Vs. BNIB, bought for a project which didn't go any further.

Looking for something with mudguard mounts and similar clearances. You might prefer my silver tektro rx1s.

How are mini-Vs for racing though? I want the Belgian pro canti look.
Should make it clear I've already got a set of cantis, just need a couple of brake bolts and those wire guidey thingies

just finished this, £450 all in. not to everyone's taste I'm sure but it's a damn sweet ride.

Some people race on them. It's a matter of personal preference and to some extent course conditions. Wide cantis don't trap as much mud, which is why Belgians like them, but the right mixture of soil type and moisture content to generate sticky mud is a very particular thing, found in Flanders fields and not many other places.

A little over a year since I got the frame + group, my current project is coming together. Took ages because I was looking for a 1 inch carbon threadless fork with more than 230mm of steerer, which is a hen's tooth:
(sorry for crappy phone pic)
Giant Cadex alu frame+fork (cheers whatok)
SRAM Red+Rival group (cheers Roymund)
Mavic OpenPro on Hope hubs (cheers cheesecake_intl)
Thomson 0degree stem (not sure about this but it's the right length for now)
Maxxis Refuse tyres
My old favourite saddle
(+my skanky old Sidis)Just got to change out the cassette and do the cabling now, very excited.
Nice!! going to be so smoooth!

To be honest, I really didn't want to respray it because I like it looking gnarly and with nineties flare but it had to be done
Shame because that paint job was awesome, definitely one of my favourite forum bikes!
But as the fellow owner of a powder-coated Donohue I can't be too critical. Looks awesome now, is that a dark paint job with a red lacquer?

Saarf. Just to be completely clear: 1) that's blooming lovely, well done, and 2) dibs.

Thanks man. Yeah I did love it but it was definitely necessary, I didn't want the frame turning to shit from negligence . No, the colour is Phosphorous with a gloss lacquer....it glitters in the sun. Then a black sparkle on the forks

Looks good in its new guise anyway. Are you going to get new decals? The only thing about the whole build that doesn't seem quite right is the saddle/seatpost combo, looks like it's a bit oddly placed for some reason, like it's perched quite far forwards. Have you tried with an inline?

£3 paintjob is holding up surprisingly well. Thinking about getting some risers and a thumb shifter? reckon it could be quite nice

talking about £3 paint jobs, I made this today

Nice to see Donohues getting forum props. I know F-Tiles has one and loves it. I had three in succession yonks ago - the pink 631 died in a crash and then went through two 853 numbers trying to replace it - both of which were patently too small. Lovely bikes.
Telescope's right though, and the zero mark on the bars is obviously pointing up. No matter, I'll sort it out when it arrives.
