Project 'cleanup/organize some of the frames' has gone pretty well, nicely out of the way now and not falling over them.
Samson has cranks, stem. On again-off-again Didier Louis daily has a rack, brakes and other bits.
Also from back in August, new chain and tyres -
Gonna swap for an 8-speed Chorus/Record ergopower group I think, got a bit annoying set up as it was going up and down hills - those first gen single pivots and aero levers along with the old Campy pads just a little bit scary on the descents, figure I may as well change it all in one go.

I'll ask here too.
can anyone recommend a fairly cheap but still decent disc wheelset for a Pompetamine? My girlfriend is looking to pick one up to use as a commuter.
(also recommendations on disc brakes too)

The only thing I couldnt do a lot was ride on drops the way I do with Deda RHM.
Probably worth moving your stem up a bit then.

Lovely collection! are they hanging from a bed?
let's see the full side shot apollo
There's a set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/apollo_0/sets/72157636178450006/
The paint's actually really shit quality, so I don't expect it to last long.
Initially I wanted to do some sort of pink to purple to black fade, but I can't be arsed.
It seems like years ago that it looked like this but the current version is definitely the best its ever ridden in terms of smoothness, handling (different forks) etc. But yeah, nothing to do to it now except ride :)

Yeah it's a mezzanine bed, an Ikea Tromso I think. Paris apartments are small so it's an easy way to get a bit of extra space. Also turns out a nice place to hang frames too.

Anyone fancy a Balk Pista in 56cm c-c?
Saddle and hs not included. Raw cinelli track fork not in picture. Fork needs a chrome or a bit of paint. Some rust down by the chainstay and bbshell. -

.Is that a mecacycle I spy there? How big is it?
Also which rack is that?
Also also how big is that samson?
-
• #83537
Samson looks like a 58 or 59 from here.

• #83538
A little trawling tells me its a 60cm, good size....
-
• #83539
Yeah it's a Mecacycle, 60c-c. I've an 8-speed Record Ergopower group ready for it but now I'm considering 10 speed as I really did like it when I had a go recently. I much prefer the hood shape (I believe they changed again for 11 speed?)
Rack, dunno what the brand is exactly - picked it up from La Bicyclette, there's more pictures of one of them here. Pretty solid, they mount behind the brake and around the axle/QR.
Samson, 60 c-t.

Some short wheelbases ...
Mecacycle seems to be coming along ok, all the bits that need to be off have finally come off, it has a new BB in too so hopefully I can start building it up when I have time, got all the parts ready on that front.
Not sure about the Didier Louis now, still got to get that rear brake cable out and it's competing against two other frames to be built up, ones that will likely be closer to my preferred fit :/
Ha it is a mecacycle, I've been after one for years. Theres one I see parked up on holloway road thats been painted such a dull beige color, its criminal. Should you ever want to part with it, please, let me know.

you probably already know this but there was a large one hanging up in Fitzrovia Cycles a few months back, can't remember how big, but think it was a 59

I didn't know that, but 59 is probably a weenie bit too small for me. I'll pop in and have a look though.

Currently riding 565mm toptube and 90mm stem(58cm), would getting M size Giant Omnium with 535mm would be wise? I want bigger drop, so I need smaller frame, but would this still be ok?

^^
What year Omnium are you looking at? Giant's geometry seems to change a lot from model to model.
I ride a medium 2008 Omnium (53.5cm tt), but I usually ride 53 or 54cm frames anyway. The compact geo on that model means the seat tube is only 50cm and you will have a lot of seatpost on show if you are used to riding 58cm seat tube.
This is how much seatpost is showing on mine.

Would thishttp://rover.ebay.com/roverimp/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&pub=5574889051&toolid=10001&campid=5336525415&item=300946859504&mpt=1646678 be ok for re-covering a saddle?
Considering Ripstop has zero stretch, I'd say 'not ideal'.
Might also cause mega static / friction against any lycra-type legwear. -

Roboto, I can't quite understand which year it is, here is a pic

http://www.lfgss.com/thread115022.htmlOn going, want a few better parts, but tbh I plan on spending very little more. It's rolling and serviceable, and thats all I wanted from the start as she won't get too many miles.

...take it back and punch him/her in the kidneys?
Sexist pig.
what are you recovering, J? Not a stripped flite per chance?
I have a flite (recently sent to me) with good condition black leather upper, but the shell was cracked, so no use to me. Could send it your way if it's of use?
