130bcd is not slave. Good for track, but hardly bling enough for tarck.

Quick question, looking for a new crankset, just for my fixed daily commuter. I am thinking second hand ultegra 6600 with one of those USE chainrings, should be able to do it for under £100. Has anyone done a similar setup?
That's a pretty good deal, so it's probably worth just grabbing one anyway. If not, I'm sure the deal will run out and you'll be able to sell it for the same price.

I fancy da/USE for donobru... Pointless effort though as I already got omnizen.

screw on block or single speed?
I'll assume single speed, so http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-single-speed-freewheel/rp-prod7805
are good.
Make sure you buy one that can be removed with this tool
yes singlespeed. Cheers for the advice, I'll have a gander.

Sram road doubles (with the ring on the inside) works.
Really for SS you want a cassette wheel if it's something longterm.

What is not slave about a chainring shaped like a frisbee, on some of the most ridiculously technologically advanced road cranks you can get?

this aimed at me?
I'm going to be running fixed/free (riding fixed mostly but switching over to SS when riding with my gf)

Although the USE/Shimano setup is probably superior to most other track options, it is fucking ugly. I think I'm gonna give Campag Ultratorque Pista a try in the future.

Sram red comes up well in the stiffness/weight ratio fairwheel tests. Aesthetically that might be a better option.

USE on Crabon yes, that can be slave. However, slavery isn't about technological advances.
For example, NJS is the epitome of slave in many peoples eyes, but they are hardly technologically advanced components.

well I have ordered a use chainring, I am looking at red, force, ulterga and dura ace as options. Yes red might actually look best and a 09 model just sold for £65 on ebay! so will look out

It will still ride good regardless of how it looks ;)

Thank's for help but for my daily My posterior voted : comfy have won on aesthetics.

No, it's not about using technologically advanced stuff, it's about using it inappropriately.
How'd you like them applez?

Phase one of Donobru evolution complete, tomorrow will be tidying up paint and removing some decals.
1" Alpinas from Nigel182 and CK headset from andyp.
Thinking about removing seattube Donohue and leaving downtube...

So sweet
nice but a little out of budget (I have seen some silver 6600 without rings for alot cheaper)
I think the setup will look pretty rad/slave bit like this:
