  • IIRC it had a few chips on when you bought it, but that paint screams out attention. It's a unique looking frame. I wouldn't have gone full NJS on it, but maybe some Deeeeeeeep section carbon wheels and risers would look pretty good for starters.

Black components would probably compliment the colour of the frame really well, but it's hard to get an accurate depiction of just how fluoro that yellow is in photos. Silver components seem to get lost in the dazzle.

  • Maybe that saddle is comfortable too, but I've always felt Kashimax saddles or Concors look best on steel track frames.

    (Just my opinion)

  • Personal preference, with those parts i would think that's a cool looking bike, but i wouldn't ride it my self, carbon rims are not my style, neither is a concor, i think the saddle looks great and yes it is comfortable.

black rims and chain ring should look better

  • I have a Force crankset that I want to single speed.

I'm going to be using this for a sscx bike - what is the best way to do this? I know there are several different ways but in terms of using it off road, thought there might be best practice.

  • blah blah blah cry etc

there's a difference between criticising someone for poor bike fit and just being snobby about components. Just sayin'.

  • I think A&P and I have discussed our thoughts on his bike enough now and although we don't necessarily have the same tastes he doesn't seem to be that offended by the whole thing, it's everyone else that is getting so uppity and jumping on the defensive bandwagon. I offered my opinion, he responded with his thoughts. That's all that was needed.

Why don't you mind your own fucking business?

    Just sayin'.

    Sounds a bit faddy.

I'd keep everything but change the wheels to dark grey ano low profile/box section rims with silver spokes and silver high flange hubs.... maybe a black stem.

  • That is also a good call.

christ - you need to give that sandy vagina of yours a good flushing

  • in actual fact - what happened was:
someone posted their bike, you made a shitty snide comment about "dying a little.." when you saw it, then the person got a bit upset, some other people said some stuff, you backtracked with a clarification that your bitchy comment was in fact just an opinion, which you were entitled to, then people said some more things— to which you responded to like a child throwing toys around (complete with forum buzzword swearing and chevrons).

Just my opinion though. Which I am entitled to.

  • Like i said, personal taste, one of my best mates would say exactly the same as what you did, carbon rims n so on, keeps telling me get a deep carbon front wheel! but i say no, fact is the bike rides really nicely, I put my rubber gloves on and took it for a spin with the new drops, they feel great, just need to choose some tape.

pedals are awesome by the way.

  • Potato potato.

You have your opinion dan, I have mine. I never backtracked, just explained what I meant.

I did take offense to the cunty busy bodies (the likes of which you seem to be joining for no apparent reason other than to be involved) getting the complete wrong end of the stick when there was no real issue in the first place.

This place used to be a lot more relaxed, but recently everyone seems to have got sand in their vaginas and it seems as though some of their sand has crept into my vagina. Not sure how that's happened, as I tend to know who or what's been in there and keep it as tidy as possible.

    #whatwrongwithchevronsandbuzzwords

  • Don't get me wrong - I don't care either way. Say what you see init.

We all need a good flushing every now and again.

  • Anyway, back to current projects. New drivetrain for the Omnium is incoming. 51t Zen and 15t DA cog. Should give me more options on the track than my current offerings.

Longer stem has helped, but I'm hoping for a dry weekend to really test out the new setup.

  • All this over my bike haha! :)

  • ^^ Fancy pants. I am getting a set of Dura Ace cranks for my Giant Omnium - with 52 ring.

I also have a 82mm rim to replace the 50mm one I broke at track league 3 weeks ago. Deep.

  • I'm saving for some decent tubs, with the hope that I can roll around the Olympic velopark next year.

  • Tubs are nice - worth the faff. I have made a decision that I'm saving mine for racing though - will be training on clinchers from now on.

  • Serious question, would cloth tape look out of place on my Vivalo? for the new drops i got

  • would look OK - would feel like shit.

  • cork tape + cloth on top.

  • well i got cloth tape on some risers and it feels okay.

I did think cork taped wrapped tight and thin with cloth over it, should be tough and last a while

  • I like the Newbalms(?) stuff. I thought it was very comfy. The cheap stuff from ribble isn't.

I'd be tempted to go for a fun colour.

(I used to have the aubergine, nice in the flesh and fades nicely)

  • I want to have aubergine again but with the all black Campag Record levers, I doubt it would look as good as how it used to be sadly, went back to a boring black Newbaum.

Having said that, I think Maroon might work...
