Just need to think that will it be paired with 8 that I have or buy 10 speed set up on it. Worth it to "upgrade" to 10-speed? -

Tune DC 16/17 ? You need to be really careful cutting them down to ensure the threaded side is fully on the thread and not half on the thread, half on the reduced centre section of the skewer .. If they are DC 16/17 I'd take them back and get the correct road DC 14. It's the same design only with the correct length skewers
Mine are the Skyline ones, I went for the MTB over the road ones cos I thought they be a bit more heavy duty. I suppose I could always swap them for a road set.

A little over a year since I got the frame + group, my current project is coming together. Took ages because I was looking for a 1 inch carbon threadless fork with more than 230mm of steerer, which is a hen's tooth:
(sorry for crappy phone pic)
Giant Cadex alu frame+fork (cheers whatok)
SRAM Red+Rival group (cheers Roymund)
Mavic OpenPro on Hope hubs (cheers cheesecake_intl)
Thomson 0degree stem (not sure about this but it's the right length for now)
Maxxis Refuse tyres
My old favourite saddle
(+my skanky old Sidis)Just got to change out the cassette and do the cabling now, very excited.

It's been a while since I posted any updates on this bike, but riding it around the track today reminded me why I love it. I've recently changed from compact drops to track drops and although commuting to the track on them has taken a bit of getting used to, they feel great while going in circles.
Next step is a longer stem so I can get into the right position on the drops.

what drops are they? I need something less deep for my look
-
• #82186
Looks great, but bars could be tilted back a little?
-
• #82187
Po Vibe 7S. Shallower than Deda, Cinelli etc.
TM. The drops are actually parallel with the ground (I used a spirit level). Maybe it's dodgy camera angle.
-
• #82188
Why would you do that? you want them pointing more at the bridge no?
-
• #82189
No, I don't think so. Track drops should be flat.

No, I don't think so. Track drops should be flat.
Why?
These bars might fit the bill also Laner? Not track bars but good shape and stiff...

^What bars are they?
-
• #82192
I think my bar angle is similar to your one TM, but my smaller frame with steeper compact geo makes it look more extreme.
-
• #82193
possible... Mine definitely not flat though, much more comfortable and easier to grab with a bit of lean.
They're Cinelli Vai Palm

Tempted to try some track drops

For the track?

Had to use the 'track' wheels today... No skids.
Updated the pedals and zen. Managed to get a nasty chainslap on the stays today so it's got it's first blemishes. Can really enjoy it now then!

Chainset: On One External bb track chainset.
Seatpost: Cheap Ebay.

Disagree about track drops being flat, I think the ends should point down a bit.
Worth giving it a try anyway, you might find it more comfortable.Nice bike, btw. Recognise it from yesterday.
