Bought some Zipp 303 tub rims. I can't decide whether to build them for road or track. 18h front, 24h rear. I would like hub suggestions for either use.
When you say track do you mean just that or just using on your fixed bike on the streets? Tubs on fixed seems meh unless you like tire expenses and glueing.
White ind hubs in silver with silver spokes always looks great on carbon rims imo. Good hubs. The t11 come stock 18h front i believe.

Poor photo of my pompino in it's current state
Short term - Buy some SKS Chromoplastics, fit rear brake and probably chop bars an inch or so
Long term - New wheels and probably forks at somepoint.I also fancy going back to regular MTB style SPDS to avoid the disco slippers. Those Chrome spd-but-normal shoes, do they get a good rep? I'll do anything to avoid taking a spare pair of shoes with me everywhere but I've never got along with clips and straps.

Ooh is that one of those "count-your-nipple-twist" cranky screwdriver things?
When I was a kid I always wanted one of those and assumed them to be essential.
I then went to watch a proper "I-built-wheels-for-Sean-Kelly" pro build my XC wheels and was shocked to see he used an electric drill instead.
Since then I've always assumed they were like garlic presses and used a battery screwdriver to take the nipples to the last visible thread before reaching for the spoke key.... -

You can grind down an electric screwdriver bit into the same shape as a nipple driver and it'll do the same job, faster.

Dont c how they resemble picks up but opinions will vary. I too prefered the previous generations of white hubs before the usa logo and t11 but those aint available no more :/
On a different matter
These challenge tires are a bitch to mount but im looking forward to testing em tomorrow. And now i have to wrestle the front too

never failed me.
tried reverse rotafix so hard, also tried skidding it off, nout.
-
• #81444
You need rotafix and man muscle.
Fit risers, straddle the bike, stand on risers, PUSSHHHH
will work.
-
• #81445
straddle the bike
You might want an assistant to stop you falling over when it unbinds, and a cushion to stop you injuring your undercarriage on the stem/toptube/etc.
-
• #81446
Stem and top tube will be facing the floor, sorry thought it went without saying that if you were standing on the bars the bike would be upsidedown.
Only thing you've got to worry about then is the chainring and your nuts, never usually gives way that dramatically though.

Last time I needed Serious Force to rotafix, I got someone to hold the wheel still against a step and then used the frame as a lever.
