  • Alpina Wing TT might suit the frame a bit better?

Nothing is going to line up with the splitter on the front of the head tube. I'm guessing it's 1" too, so that makes a fork change a PITA

  • Another kind of DIY foam disc wheel (foam mat + velcro):

  • This is possibly my favourite ever of yours B0N0R.
    Good work indeed

  • TM, I think you need one of these

Might treat myself to one when it's finished...

I will be in the minority but personally i recon that bike would look best with twin old school corima aero's and compacts on the ergo stem

twin old school corima aero's as in like those on the Look? Planning on trying out the carbon off the Condor on this, but to be honest I think disc + 4 spoke will look boss hog.

It needs a really chunky fork to interface nicely with the frame at the bottom of the headtube. just looks odd atm

If you look at Pisti's, you can see that where they've made the frame longer, they've literally just stuck a bit extra onto the head tube... That is the original fork, that's how Corima intended, and that's how it will stay.

Needs aerospokz on the front! haterzgonnahate ;)

I think I would need magnet power to pull me up any inclines if I did that...

    Yes

If it looked like the fork was designed to go with the frame, it wouldn't look like a Corima

    Yes

This, or the holy grail of twin clincher track four spokes (if such a thing even exists?)

Alpina Wing TT might suit the frame a bit better?

Yes to wheels, but still reckon a disc on the back, imo alpina wing TT would look shit, and I'm not sure they make 25mm anyway.

    maybe

I can't think of a fork that would look any better, personally I quite like the shape of the Corima one, althouh, one of my mates is selling a Time or Look (can't remember, think Time) aero bladed, 1" TT fork that could work...

    Hmmm.

    .

  • nah nah stick original fork.
its how its meant to be init!

i think duel 4blade corimas would be most boss.
plus the ergo and compact drops.

  • Compact drops can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Disc will happen eventually, I reckon the best option is making one out of my halo rear wheel. Should be a lot tougher than a proper disc innit.

I've got a murdered out ambrosio track disc if you're interested...

  • the bike to rule them all.. replaced two of my other rides.

  • ^ so good!
    what stem and front rack?

  • LHT looks great! Think it's about time I gave my Cross Check a bit of a freshen up.

  • ^^^psee, well executed as ever. what is it replacing?

  • Nice build. Love black Surlys, currently putting a steamroller together meself. Then the day one can sit in the garage for a rest.

  • Thanks yall. Amey, Stem & Rack.

Rodolfo. A Kaffenback i had for touring, and sadly, a Faggin Tourer/Rando i built up this spring. This will do both.

  • Very nicely put together.

What are the brake levers btw?

  • Psee, that is absolutely fantastic. Bravo.

    tub?

  • Thanks yall. Amey, Stem & Rack.

Looks amazing psee, shame that gorgeous Fagin has to go.

How are you finding the front rack? How sturdy is it? Any chance of a front shot?

  • My interview prep for tomorrow was going so well until the new frame turned up, it would be rude to not start building it up.

    Without chain fitted

  • Any thoughts on this frame? Can get it dirtcheap, just love the chrome parts, and the lugs

  • Bugger, first ride in ages and my chain snapped after four miles.

Is 1x9 asking too much of a lowly 9 speed Shimano chain?

  • tub?

    Yeah

  • Is 1x9 asking too much of a lowly 9 speed Shimano chain?

It's less demanding than 2×9 or 3×9. Which chain, how was it joined, where did it break, how old was it?

  • If i have a frameset that currently takes a 22mm quill stem due to being french could I swap forks and headset to standard 1inch items? would this work or is the headtube an odd size also? forks are not original ones anyway so i'm not too fussed about swapping them.

  • I was pondering this earlier, could it not be reamed at the LBS to take a 22.2 stem?
