New tyres and pedals for the Mielec. First time riding clipless!
Sweet, how many teeth is that up front? 44? Also whats your gear ratio?

  • Gaston Fr repped.

42:14 at the moment. Seems perfect for where I'm riding at the moment but I'm moving to Bournemouth tomorrow so I'll probably change to a higher gear on one side for longer rides with that part of Dorset being ridiculously flat and a lower gear on the other to spin my way around town.

  • Will look out for you riding round Bournemouth :-)

  • you guys should start riding track down here,
    seen plenty lads brakeless recently.
    dont get yourselves killed,
get yourselves buzzing on the track!

  • You wanna get your head out of your arse and ride the fookin thing.

Whoever you are, wherever you are, please post more of your initial impressions.

Yep! Won't be riding much around town for a little bit, living in Lansdowne for a couple of weeks and working at Coriander in the square so probably quicker to walk by the time I've carried the bike down 3 flights of stairs and locked it up. Moving to Charminster soon though. What are you riding? I'll keep an eye out for you!

  • After waiting ages for the brake levers that were on back order I have finally built up my Pub Bike Project.

    Finally built up full spec;
    Frame = Seventies Falcon Proffessional
    Miche chainset & BB
    Stronglight A9 headset
    Nitto handlebars & Stem
    TRP Alloy drilled brake levers
Tektro R559 brake calipers 55-73mm drop
    Taya 1/8th chain
Miche Xpress wheels on Miche Hubs.

    Set on Flickr

I don't want to put pressure on you Gaston but let me tell you that I have high expectations about your next project.

    ;-)

What's funny is that I wrote a book: "Generation transition".if you want I can send you the pdf if you give me your adress by PM.

    Thank you guys.

Is it a book with a happy ending? If yes, I'm interested.

  • ^^ would look a lot nicer with matching saddle and bar tape and black tyres I reckon! Nice idea to cover a pub bike in beer labels though!

Yeah I know, still on the hunt for another saddle either black tyres or white? :)

  • Black! For the love of god black! Ha ha.

    Ok. I will.

  • How wide are those tires? Was wondering if the scr3 has enough room for 28c's. Thanks.

  • I would put the other pics in the gazelle topic.

  • Neat.

Is that a lead seal under the top tube?

  • thanks

it is a lead seal.... not sure about the Mawic seatpost...

The pictures are not too big ?

  • Pictures seem OK to me.

The Maouic seatpost is quite unexpected on this Gazelle but it doesn't look bad, what else do you have? By the way, is it period correct?

I am intrigued by that lead seal... What is the explanation?

  • Made a few change, a lot of fun! need a basket tho'

  • no it doesn't, baskets are shit

  • nah it would come in useful, for the summer at least,

  • for what? Stuff just bounces around in a basket

  • Since when they don't?

  • To carry things! duh, and just use some bungee cords to hold things in place.

  • Don't listen to the erection, baskets are cool :)

I was sifting through the parts bin the workshop and found some stuff to add to my brooklyn because I was bored.

Yup the grips are green and the seatpost is silver, but I don't care because free parts <3
