-

Chucked bits onto the Weigh. Need to go to shop to borrow Octalink BB tool/get new cables/cut steerer (but need to clean components first really.
Will also need to get a shorter stem and better seatpost at some point.
Feels light right now, (most bikes do without cranks, chain and BB I guess).

soon...

The frame is absurdly light for steel. I will try and wave it at some scales before I build it up. Also came with a centaur Ti seatpost, and the look fork, for £110. Chuffed.

You've done well there. Some kind of 90's group to go on it?
-

1990 chorus, bit early really but I have it ready to go.

Monoplanar brakes will look hot on the carbon rear triangle though. Just waiting on a headset.
-
• #77487
Yeah that does sound hot. Where is that canal btw?
-
• #77488
Just need to swap the front wheel for the one that matches the rear and make the cabling going to the rear brake prettier.

I think I'll make a decal to cover the rather ugly top tube one.
It will say veronica.

Yeah, it is pretty light, innit?
Also, aren't those seat stays rad? -
• #77493
It's a beaut. Cleaned it all up today (well, all my dirty components) ready to sort out on monday.
Just hope it fairs better than my last 853 frame (RIP).

Stripped this down today in anticipation of the full 7400 group I'll be putting on it next week hopefully.
One of 300 or so frames 'Don Brooks' ever made. Original straight bladed forks from 1989 as well. -

Very excited to get this built up. I have a feeling it won't be conducive to exam success next week. Que sera.
That weigh is looking rad, I hope it's getting some black tape?
-
• #77496
Also, anyone got any heli tape going spare? I just want to cover up the decals as they're peeling a bit, but don't want to do the whole thing.

I've got quite a bit- bought loads a while ago.
How much do you need?

still chipping away at this
I have over sized kojak's but am tempted by os supermotos
the contact points are black, but I'm tempted to use mother of pear/ off white like decals for cables
also , bar is itm, haven't found a cinelli one yet, and need to work out instructions for
bullet shifter installation
down tube mech is clamp on , so i want to put protection between clamp and tube

Just enough to cover the decals really. It only occurred to me this evening when I noticed that one of the letters is peeling off. Not the nicest decals admittedly, but they've been going a while so I'd like to protect them.
Is it going to look odd if I just do the decals, d'ya reckon?
