If you can still get hold of them, Tortec stainless are almost like not having cages at all in terms of statement.
Crap pic to show what I mean
Period correct too - I bought mine in about 2002ish.
Edit: They're available here - http://larkfieldcycles.co.uk/uncategorised/tortec-stainless-steel-bottle-cage/ -

Aaaaah. No, too weight weenie for me (and the bike). :) Thanks though.

If the Elite logo is a removable sticker I think I'll try the black alloy Ciussi first (because I'm a tart). Thanks all.

I think you're right - black Ciussi would suit the dream better - my Al+ is a bit older and quite a bit more trad.

Bottle cages are serious business.

Sweet. Checked Google and looks like it was meant for 6, but can apparently handle 7 and 8 too. Now to find some wheels...
7, but not 8. 126mm OLN wheels are going to be hard to find these days, I'd consider getting it cold set to 130mm, because 126mm hubs are only going to get rarer.

Just gave my Gazelle Champion Mondial baanfiets some new "clothes"
First it had a Campagnolo Super Record gruppo but I dont like the looks of an mid '80 group on an early '90s frame.
It used to look like this:
Then I stumbeled upon an almost new DA 7710 group in mint condition (NJS all the way) and i thought this would suit the frame way better. What do you guys think?
I'm still in doubt whether I should black out the braking surface or not.. -
• #76960
Braking surface is offensive, otherwise lovely.
-
• #76961
yeah at least spray them black

Going for Sram on an upcoming project.
Can someone confirm that Force cranks will work with Apex everything else? It's my understanding that they will be fine, but want to confirm first.

• #76969
yes

Schwing. Apex cranks look gash. Need dat SRAM logo. This entire bike is sorted in that case.

• #76972
Im consdering swapping the sram off my Alan to a custom frame CX from TF, but then i'd be road bike-less until I could afford a campy group for the alan,
(this is after I get the Dart)
-
• #76973
I've made do without a road bike for...well...ever. If sure you'll cope for a month or two?
-
• #76974
itd be more like 6-9months as im going back to uni in sept
-
• #76975
but then in manchester i can do pretty much everything fixed and would have the cx for anything else, hmm..
^ Inox is the stainless steel version, right?
I generally prefer stainless steel cages over alloy, it's just a shame that silver/red doesn't match the bike as well as black/yellow.
