Getting to see this bike again makes the daft saddle discussion bearable.

Let me show you how theoretically painful this look again...

After a few rides on the new MTB setup, thought I'd try the rigid carbon forks again, as 5 inch of travel is overkill for alot of the riding I'll be doing. Finally sorted the front brake running issue (disc was bent so straightened that) too.
Saved a few pounds swapping out the fork, is currently nudging 27 pounds with heavy tires and fat pedals, maybe get down to 25 ish with different tyres and pedals. After riding it along the street, feeling much more responsive with the rigid forks. Looking forward to trying it off road. I'm leaving the scoblestack for now, until I've done some miles on it. As the axle-crown is much shorter than the suspension fork I had on there,I'll probably lose a cm after riding it, no point making it uncomfortable though. Guess I could use a longer version of the fork, but that would be a waste of monies.

I can only conclude from this that you have below average sized grapes.

On the contrary, yer balls don't sit on the saddle unless you got raisins.

I did the Hard Day in January with my saddle at a jaunty angle like that after a too-hasty seatpost changeover the night before. Just looking at Ed's saddle is making my little ones head back inside for shelter again.

If your dingles can dangle either side of a chubby nosed Brooks, then sir, I doff my cap to you.
I suffer a long term injury to the balls after riding a Manc track rental bike with a jaunty saddle angle, don't know how others manage. A little lean is ok, but the scoblemeisters would be extremely painful for me.

can't you see the rack behind the saddle? it's there for a reason.
-
• #73612
What do you think the saddle rack is for...

I didn't think this deserved a thread on its own, as it's entirely unremarkable, but here's the latest addition to my stable:
Second hand Croix de Fer frameset with Hope headset
ControlTech finishing kit
SRAM Force groupset with WiFli 11-32 rear cassette
XT spd pedals, Flite XC saddle, Fizik bar tape
Avid BB7 brakes and discsIt's currently wearing it's second best Ritchey 29er rims with Vittoria XN tyres - I'm building up a better pair with some Hope hubs, crabbon fibber 29er rims, CX-Ray spokes and Vittoria XG tyres which will be run tubeless. But I haven't finished them yet.

Ah, while you are here Ed, you never replied to my PM about the Newbaum tape. How many would I need for one pair of drop handlebars (old GBs or Philipe). As I said, the old velox from decathlon seems to be sold in shorter length than before and I had to buy 2 sets to complete a wrapping!

Whoop! sorry I haven't realised it been in my inbox for ages.
You need two rolls for both side, it's pretty much the norms to be sold like that.

I just about managed to wrap 42cm Deda Piegas with one roll of Velox on either side.
Still buy 3-4 rolls incase you need to repair it if it tears etc.

I love this bike. I definitely prefer it with these wheels (and the HED).
