"ftfy

"just ride down Highgate West brakeless a few times a day until you end up in hospital, it wouldn't take more than a week."
Admittedly I'm not familiar with Highgate West, but what makes you think that?

note not the best bars when your carrying a pack... counter balance straps didn't help much when i was on the drops with a flat back.. kept on slipping under my arm
thoughts?Better bag, tighten straps or different bars.

But in this case, it's more like flying to the moon during holidays with a machine that is volontarily deficient for the task

The whole project is a result of poor judgement and whiskey fuelled decision making... It simply doesn't make sense, nor should it.

Just so long as it wasn't fuelled by poor whiskey ;-)

It made perfectly good sense as a dick waving contest between Kennedy and Хрущёв, and a fair amount of sense as a speculative technology project with prospective payback in commercial spin-offs. Which of these is your project?

Good point.
Edited.
Still it's given me some hungover food for thought, and I've now worked out what I'd build. I'll refine my thoughts further while I take a dump.

None of the above good Sir, none of the above. Actually there is a certain element of dick waving involved, and needless to say we had to come up with something crazy to justify the funding, but other than that the similarities are few and far between.
*Manned space missions are all about funding, but you already know that.

project "Dynorod"
Just a word warning, I did my pompetamine with plastikote fluorescent green and it was impossible to get anywhere near as bright as you would get from a pro job. Took 4 cans in the end, on top of white primer, to get an even finish and was more like lime green that proper neon. Hope you have better luck but might be worth getting it done proffessionaly?

I was going to build a campus bike back in October... then it was going to be a singlespeed road bike for the winter...
It's now February, and I have got this far:
(First wheelbuild, they're almost true...)

When I climbed the Tourmalet a couple of years back the day started great but half way up the weather turned and what had been a tough day became a nightmare.
We had to descend in wind and rain and to be frank it was painful and nerve racking on a road bike.
What if that happens to you on your skidder trip?

are those hubs sheriff's? if so may be wise to not put them on a 'campus' bike

I finished the build on this in the new year.
Unfortunately after a few longer rides i have decided its a bit big and i am selling it on.

Try an SLR if you want more post showing, nice setup shame to sell it.
I'm glad someone bought that, I don't think I would have been able to resist for much longer.
