  • make a pile in the middle of the room.

  • I am thinking my 2 bikes (road and fixeh) will go on the topeak stand as they have a top tube and mixte (with the largest wheelbase) will go on the wall behind sofa with cheap(ish) hooks, the solution taht johnscott187 has done seems good but I dont have enough horizontal space to accommodate the wheelbase ..

  • ^^ obvious troll is obvious

  • Suspended vertically using front wheel hooks on the wall in the first photo?

  • ^ thought about that, and that will take all 3 bikes possibly BUT then the bikes take more surface space if you know what I mean

  • I recently moved my sofa to a worse place and put my 3rensho where it used to be, I have my priorities right.

Also it's the first thing you see when you walk in and I'm hoping it will impress girls???

  • Or the same idea in the recessed area where the table is now?

  • These are the first solutions came in my mind but the missus thinks that by doing it this bikes come in a way .. I didnt bother to explain :P I think shinkuu's post explains it better

    is it working?

  • we should make a thread with this, I got a v similiar problem in my microflat

  • is it working?

hes on the forum all the time, you can tell yourself

  • I can't rep any of you but I would if i could

solution: store your bikes at my house. Payment in zipp borrowings.

  • I doubt it's much use to amey, but reposting in case it's of use to anyone. I didn't need to try it in our current flat so can't comment on how well it works in reality.

  • ^ same as topeak stand innit?

  • I have that "on loan" from Dammit, works really well although now it only has the road bike on the top hooks as my BJ lives in the hallway, for quick getaways, innit.

  • Pics later when I've got the bars, but geared rear wheel is in place(deep-ish black rim with black tub), looks much nicer with black front wheel. Bearings should arrive today or tomorrow so bb will be in.
Realised I don't have quite as many TA rings as I thought I did, unsure between single ring - either 48 or 51 or a double with 51-35 or 42-35. Looks say big ring, practicality says 42-35(the close ratio block on the wheel is teeny weeny).

Still need to slice a bit of length off the seatpost I'll be using and find a headset.

  • ^^There's nothing quite like having a BJ in the hallway.

I would make a first world problems meme about this whole conversation but it's too much trouble when I'm using my tablet.

  • but it's too much trouble when I'm using my tablet.

  • just pile the bikes up

  • or get a shed

    m.u.st. S.p.r.e.a.d hahahahahahaha

  • There is third pedal hook and tyre bead behind the sofa for GFs bike. 3 bikes overlap equally from skirting board to soffit. Tyres rest on oak beading from Leylands to stop light bikes sliding at the front tyre.

How is this beading attached? Is it drilled / screwed in?

  • 3 countersunk screws per length of oak. I used brass screw to go with the oak. It has been up for 6 months now and has been secure (took a while for the paranoia to pass). Downside is having to import the hooks from Germany. Better than any other wall system I have used as you can overlap bikes if you get your measurements right.
