Thinking of building up my lopro frame soon. Bought it, sold it then bought it back last year. Undecided between building myself a retro slave or a cute cruiser for LadyLiz. I'm 5'10, she's 5'4, trying to work out a cockpit that'll suit us both and just raise/drop the saddle..
Have a TA chainset and axle lying around I might use for it.
55ct seattube, 58ctc effective top tube. -

They don't give a discount on a handful of wheels though, you'd need 20 pairs of rims or so before the cost goes down.
Also, when I spoke to them it was a flat rate for shipping for each wheelset.
Hmm, I wonder how much profit they are actually making being so competitive in the first place. Suppose it makes sense I guess.
I'll still send them an E-mail asking, just to see what they say really. -

looks like gas pipe
respray?
531 its not heavy and yes its had a respray I like it though it ratty and garish: two qualities I want for my next bike

For 100, go for it...
So many lugs Spotty, what will you do with them all? and I can see bullet holes in the head tube, anyway go for it. Do like those gussets.
If I do buy it it'll get my cargo rack, some dura ace / mavic sup wheels and an 8x1 sugino/suntour groupset to become my rat commuter / shopping bike

even on a non carbon steerer fork?
Yes, not to protect the steerer but to stop the stem from walking up it under cyclic load.

Sounds good, so the real question is, why not?
sounds like a great A to B bike.

I have some bills to settle first, then i should be ok. My big blue frame can get the treatment it deserved from the start then, a fresh coat of paint and some good old fashioned hip hop slavery

Bills > bikes > life.
if you like it, get it! i like it, but way to big

Miro_o - I've not heard that before, can you elaborate?
Tommmmmmm - rad as fuck

^^
Not really, just that I've never seen frames with that kind of horizontal crimping that have been any good.* It's seen on tonnes of english frames like Dawes that flex and never on a decent track frame, they tend to be ovalised.
- That's not to say they don't exist.

55ct seattube, 58ctc effective top tube. The only way you will get this to work is with bmx or chopper handlebars.
I am 5'8" and need top tube of 51cm. 58cm is massive!

Firstly, really DFP? 5'8" + 51 ETT = T-rex
Secondly, a difference in height of 6", is probably going to mean at least 100mm difference in reach. No doable.
Yep, I did- went pretty smoothly.

On that note, I'd (in general) always order a wheelset from them- have a look at the pricing, but I think their prices are very keen for CX Rays/hubs/build.
I'd be up for a CX clincher wheelset.
