All 29ers seem to have huge effective top tube, does the geo make this alright for small people,
Forexample the smallest kona unit has a 22.5 effective tt which on any other bike would be way way too big

The 2009 & 2011 Unit models are quite different frames apollo. The geo was slightly different & they redesigned the sliders.
Of course, the sliders will also affect potential tyre clearance, but 2.3" should be fine

Not really, if you're little you're probably better off sticking to 26"

Ask Smallfurry. He seems to like his 29er.
Short stems are fashionable anyway ;-)

this, if you're a smaller gentleman no idea why you'd try and spec a 29er to fit you over a 26er that would suit you nicely

...not planning on changing much at the moment except new grips and maybe getting SuperTed to braze in a vertical bridge in the dropouts.
How come?

Untitled by jonathanmdennis, on FlickrNature boy is now pretty much as I intended it upon purchase a few months ago with the purchase of new wheels (Open Pros to Goldtec courtesy of retro di corsa) and White Industries cranks. Only thing I may add is Mini V's, but I've not yet made my mind up on this yet.

Lovely looking nature boy. Why no full guards?

racing 'cross every other week or so and it's not worth the faff of fitting and removing them.

How come?
to stop the sliding dropouts 'rotating'...
On another note, just spent a few hours giving this old Benotto a full service for a friend. My god, was it in a bad state. So much crap in the hub and bb internals. Lovely bike, and runs smooth now, its only the 850 Italian Hi-Ten breed, but nice Campag, Maillard, and Cinelli parts throughout.

^^ Fair enough, that would be a right pain.

How heavy is that frame Psee? Almost identical one on the bay going cheap i was considering
-
• #70118
Haven't weighed it, but as it's built from straight gauge 'gaspipe' tubing it's not particularly light, nothing that has bothered me though. Works fine for what i'm using it for.

Half way through building up my Langster. Needs a new front wheel and some clipless pedals. The gear ratio is very spinny but suits my hilly commute.
-
• #70122
nice that
-
• #70123
Why you need a new wheel? Could be rattle canned black innit.

^ewww :p
^^^Lovely build, what bars are those?

Very nice langster, odd lever position. What do you make of the ass saver? Fairly shite I reckon, it is just a rain tail i suppose though.
love it! is it a 2009 Unit? Mine is, and just wondering how fat your tyres are and how fat you can go!!
