Seriously!?! They're painted silver!!!!
The Eclat ones are the shape they are, that's much less fixable than the surface finishing on the Shimanos

I presume they are steel? If aluminium expect eventual crack n fail.
Why? Polishing improves the fatigue life. Mirror-polishing the surface eliminate scratches that could start a fatigue spot. Or where you referring to the shape of the bar?

Nice V-L is that a dart?

yes,

^^There's only so much mud will fit in there, and if you use stainless steel it wouldn't really matter.
Don't know that I'm convinced. If it's full of crap all the time, there's potential for the hub to corrode. Could potentially machine some strategically placed holes to reduce build up I guess.
V-L that is rad

also built this winter hydraulic braked fixed gear bruiser tonight
needs black cranks and 700c front cx wheel (disc hub)
toe straps
Fingers crossed snow comes! -

What's that frame?
-
• #68759
a pomp frame with all the braze ons removed

Your current design has the potential to trap water between the adapter and the hexalobal bit of the hub, so I'm not sure you're worse off with a top hat.

Pretty much what I'm building

ready for when I go flat bar setup on the pomp
on a pomp
on my Pompetamine
a pomp frame
Pretty much what I'm building
Should we all retire to the Pompino/Pompetamine thread and leave people to their other projects?

Actually, I think I'm done for now :)
-
• #68764
^^ haha; they are such great frames

I'm considering one myself for pretty much the same build as that V-L, i just don't have space for 4 bikes here.
Anyone ever put sus-fork on a pomp? saw one the other day set up like that and it looked like a really fun ride

Nope :)
Got my pomp frame back from the finishers today so finally putting my winter bike together. Hopefully finish it off tomorrow

I did consider drilling 6 holes in one of these:
but the offset is 10mm and the top hat crown is not wide enough to go over the hub lobes.
the current design allow me to change the cog with less work than having to machine a new cog each time. and it allows for fine tuning the chain line in both directions with thin washers where the top hat would only go outwards.
I haven't thought about trapping mud, tho. -

fork is a Gusset Jury SL trials fork

You still have to modify each different sprocket, which is about half as much work as just making them from scratch with the top hat. Adjustability I concede, but why not get it right first time :-) ?

• #68774
I can modify the sprockets myself, but making a top hat sprocket require pro milling.

Have you posted a proper picture of yours in there yet?
