"I heard all your friends are buying old road bikes and taking the gears off them. I hear all your friends are putting modern groupsets on old raod bikes."

Drill the fcker and next time buy stainless steel bolts.
Lesson learnt, will take it to my lbs on my next day off and see if they can sort it out without drilling.

My barn-find-turd-to-polish has turned up...soon my pretties this (Colnago Oval CX) will have a new lease of life...just as soon as I get the nasty powdercoat off...

Nice bike man. Why ultegra over force though? No need for red but could then easily upgrade parts. Maybe trade Evans prices.
-
• #68056
Most of the stuff is Evans trade didn't have enough for dura ace and S red are lighter but I'm happy with the ultegra
Might get Chinese carbon wheels to test them out -

Nice ride out today. The Cougar is almost exactly where I want her..recently added a lovely clean Hatta headset and Izumi ST chain.
Only things I need now is an appropriate BB for the Suntour cranks (109mm?) to straighten the chainline (off-line Izumi is loud)..only slight problem is that the rear spacing is 125mm, so fitting a shorter correct spindle could result in the 51t chainring nicking the stays, so may invest in a smaller chainring..maybe a 49t Zen ring or Suntour track if I can find one. Will then be able to go for the 18t EAI superstar cog and finish her in style! Totally love this bike though, she's the reason I'm selling all my nice gear :-) -

Shit those wheels are hot Jonno

That frame is the business. Very nice build too - needs better pictures.

mmmmmm, lovely bike,
I'd stick TT levers on those bullhorns personally, for both aesthetics and functionality.
That paintjob is fantastic

Cheers dudes...will get better photos soon.
I never ever ever use the brake except for total emergencies (don't want to mark the rims!), and the ickle paul lever sits okay next to the black tape but can see where you're coming from a bit with the TT lever. Perhaps I should go brakeless for pure clean looks but I'm a bit :-s about that.
