Ah, but not the one I was thinking of!
The one I had in mind had a lovely bright green paint job, that recently turned to black, and sported a P2 fork.Yo
Now with black bar tape, mudguard and lights. Can't believe how fucking boring I've made my bike.
Need to sort this shit out. New paint comin soon

Hey chris borneo.

I want one, but I want a light one... -

Got the Spooner ride-able. The wheels are temporary and it's going to get a monoplaner front brake.
Liking it mate. Gumwalls?
Rebuilt the Condor, ride's a dream.
Full on velove.Niiice! Looks like you could ride that all day and still be fast. :D
Cross Post from my CP
I like the colour and looks well smooth, hell of a lot nicer, now you just need some more Look decals! ;D
Man this bike is slow:
Why?! Don't say that, I'm still looking to buy one for couple of touring trips next summer! (and general riding duties and stuffs too...)
Glad to hear it. Hot pink to lemon yellow fadez?
Oh YES! That'd be awesome. :D

Here we go:
My hack bike is an old raleigh banana. I love it. It's ace.Is it possible to get it back to having more than 1 gear? more than 6? How about 8 or 9?
Measure the rear axle spacing - this will tell you how many gears you can fit: http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html
FYI - my Merckx technically has 126 spacing (though it measured more like 128), but I managed to squeeze 10 spd Campag (130mm) into it... works fine - getting the back wheel on/off is a little bit more effort, but really it's absolutely fine.

p.s - I haz 7 speed everything you can have. For some monies. I have already told you this though..

If you want more space between dropouts to enable easy wheel removal and allow the tyre to run centrally between the stays this can be easily achieved.

yeah I had read that. Don't really fancy cold setting if I can avoid it, wheel is straight and wheel removal is not really much more work than it is with any other horizontal drop out frame.
Thanks for the thought though -

hot. I would love one of these frames - great build.
Saddle a touch too far forward though? Does that not hurt your knees? Maybe a shorter stem and more layback?
edit: have just noticed you are already running a short stem with a steep headtube. Oh well

If money were no object I'd ba all over something like this but will probably go with a plain colour powder coat. Maybe RAL 5021 like my old Cia Battino
Hey chris borneo.

I want one, but I want a light one...Frame is Large and the whole bike weighs in at 10kg so not light. Could probably build a much lighter Pompino pretty easily tho.

thanks. I'm thinking carbon forks and a few bits should land it under 10, but not by much.
I seem to be thinking and talking about this a lot but can't pull my self together to buy one. -

You're right, need to move saddle back a bit. It's a twin bolt USE cyclops though (saddle & post from another bike) and this was put together in a hurry. Will be moving saddle back a bit, swapping out front tyre and repairing the rear puncture I picked up...

I seem to be thinking and talking about this a lot but can't pull my self together to buy one.Yeah, forks are definitely one of the heaviest bits on mine. If I wasn't planning to go single speed in the future, I'd have gone for the Pompino with a track hub at the back, to keep the weight down and give a decent chain line. Mine's 54mm with a bolt on fixed cog so i can't use hollowtech chainset.

55mm is about right for an mtb crank.

my new shopper.
it'll be getting a child seat added and also needs some pedals.it's running some awesome retro thumb shifters.
-
• #67874
that look awesome.
Chrome mudguard would finish it off.

Yeah, I did look into that but I'm not really a fan of four arm chainsets or the really small BCDs available. Plan is to go for some middleburns with 110BCD, when I have a bit more cash.
I've had success with 2 part epoxy.
Just a little sandpapering to take the gloss down.
