Most likely just an alu steerer.

I shall take a closer look later and see what it actually is, i'll be very shocked if it is actually carbon, i had it in my head this hole time that its alu'.

Build looks good, have you considered Nitto RB010's or similar? The saddle to bar drop looks pretty intense with your bars...

Thanks man. Its a small world ey :) Where are you based? Yes, the position looks intense but I enjoy riding it like that for now. I'll see if I can find those Nitto bullhorns for cheap so I can try different position. I mite even try time trial bars too.....

i saw a mecacycle turbo in a bike shop, i think its endcastle st. W1. cant remember exact name of shop or road.......im not being much help. i know its 60cm seat tube and £220.......yesterday.

Finally I've found a set of drops I really get on with... its only the 5th pair I've tried!

Ergonova Pros in 46cm wide, and they are so comfortable, loving the flattened top bar, but its the drops that really get me.

Even though they have about 10mm more drop then 3T say, I can get down into the drops easily and find it comfortable even for extended periods, like today to get out of the wind, which is perfect.

Although the ability to get lower into the drops might not all be down to the bars, have lost some weight due to more riding, so not kneeing myself in the gut anymore, which is great! :D

Really pleased with this setup, so have been able to finally chop the steerer to size.
