I'm still on the look out for a spare bubble for my spirit level, and almost out of elbow grease too.

Another bad picture of my bike, anyone got any good methods of blackening MSWs? 1000archangels done a really nice job with some electrical tape so i'll probably give that ago unless anyone has some other methods?

Bein schooled on aesthetics by someone with a Boardman, fitted with a cable to hydraulic brake converter. Not sure how to take that. :)
I imagine it's hard for you, for sure.
But unless someone points out your errors how can you learn?

/rad as fuck skidder
Black leccy tape is the way to go; you can do a whole wheel in one strip as it's pretty malleable.

Electric tape is probably the best way to go but I use a sharpie on Les because I'm lazy and it looks fine.

Hit a snag installing my bars earlier, spotter bars on a nitto techtomic
it gets up to the top of the drop but theres not enought space to leverage it round the tight ben because the techtomic is so long it hits but bottom of the drops when trying to get it into the 'loosest' position, anyone had this problem?
I had the same problem, ended up taking about 30 minutes to get it on, ended up scratching my bars a bit to, i took the bolt out the clamp of the stem and wedged it open with a screw driver a bit and just wiggled it around.

Fsa wing pro are better. The fat flat top is better to climb on, a lot more comfortable to pull against. Omegas are good, but once you've tried the different shape of wing pro you'll change your mind.

Hmmm, which one of their sprockets is it?
Sorry, only just seen this. It's one of the decent ones, the stainless steel ones.

Yeah i managed to get it done with a lot of sweat and swearing sat out in the garden earlier.
Then decided the stem quill was too long so used another stem anyway >.<

Similar story for me, worth it though!
bloody heat is ridiculous, i was dripping with sweat and in major need for a shower from just changing a tyre and wrapping some bar tape!

I've got these two bike I'm going to 'mildly' do up and use as eroica-rat bikes
I've started work on them yesterday and I'm in the process of saving the leather saddles... I have take pictures and will add up details later.
Bike 1 - The frame just says Type Olympique, wheels are 700B - Got some cream tyres for it, will give it a good clean and polish then will do the cloth bar tape.
Back on there road!

good work on the saddle!

Looks really good. Wouldn't trust a track cyclist's thighs on those cranks or chainring though, they look pretty dainty.

good work on the saddle!
Neatsfoot oil bath for 2 days but it makes the saddle go a tad darker then leaves oil mark on your shorts for the next month or so...

I don't trust thighs in general...

Just finished this on Saturday. A replacement for my trusty red Roberts that recently expired.

Like everything about that apart from the bar angle. (there's always one ain't there!) ;P
I really like the Roberts frames, would love to build one some point when I have the money and one is available!
Good work.

Yeah, they could be angled down more, though the photo makes it look a bit worse than it is. I'll be keeping it on the road and won't be spending much time in the drops, so I wanted the bars in line with the stem angle. If I turn them down my hands start to slide off the tops..
Practical > Aesthetic
Too much negativity on the forum these says. What's need here is one of those Inverse Shims from way back.
