  • @Zdrenka .. easiest way to make threaded holes is to use Rivet Nuts

    http://www.rivetwise.co.uk/productrange/nutdetails.asp?nut=m5fro_s_a_26

These are common use in sheet metal construction / workshops

Oh yeah, didn't think of those. I have tried some once building something else. They seem to like a flat surface. Steel tubes have a fairly small radius so don't you recon it would a bit of a gamble?

  • they're awesome... i love mine, i want some of the paris roubaix ones too

They've got a rep for puncturing. Which is a shame as they're good looking and a nice size.

  • No fixing skidding on mine planned, on my Merckx extra corsa, heard about there iffy punturing rep though.

  • Zdrenka chuffing good effort, TheorySwine beat me to posting this in porn.

  • I've fitted anti puncture belts in mine but mainly because I'll also use it for a bit of commuting and my life to short for punctures.

    Thanks Jambon!

  • Stuck on my Sugino 75 tape and switched saddles on the tarck as it's been getting no love...

Oh and I swapped the bars from 38's to 36's..

  • pfft! you never emailed me those pics we discussed...

    PM'd

White tyres. Who are they ? What do they want ?

Zaffiro's will be getting changed for something less poxy.

  • J, never ever go to RP again without calling me. I was at a wedding today so you're let off but seriously, never again.

  • Regents

    Not

    Richmond

    I'm not a heartless prick.

    I'm going Richmond on Saturday...

  • Ha! My mistake, I should never have doubted you man.

  • I really do need to get my arse to Richmond park sometime soon.

Haven't been there since I was a kid.

  • Real nice Zdrenka.

And i got me a PX the other day too.

Waiting for new stem before touching the steerer.

  • A few changes to the "pub" bike... ("pub" until I can afford to rebuild the DA wheelset and classy it up...)

Longer stem, Easton Flat Boys with Restraps, new seatpost so I could fit the black perforated rolls in place of the 5 gold and some soyo grips...

  • when will we be hearing about your adventures in France TM? or have i missed them already?!

  • first time Ive not wanted to throw bricks at a build/rider with double spok and stickers...

    congratulations, is nice.

  • We're going to do a feature for The North Race and a bit of a video too, just going to take a while there was a whole lot of adventure to document ha...

Cheers Ernest, nice to know you would not throw bricks at me. Stickers weren't planned just found them in my bag and thought I'd put them to use....

  • Love the Q-rings. While waiting for the replacement frame (first one had the standard R3 BB cracks) I had to race on my Van Nicholas and shifted the cranks over to that, so got to try them back to back with everything else kept the same. I'm still not sure how much is placebo and how much is real, but I do feel happier spinning away, particularly climbing. Feels a little smoother and like I'm pushing a little lighter gear than I actually am.

Shifting is just as good as it was on round rings, no downsides that I've experienced so the next time I need rings/cranks for a road bike I'll be sticking with Qs.

    +1
Although setting up the front mech was a little fiddly than normal.

I like it when I'm riding along, and climb out of the saddle to add some speed. I naturally stand up while stepping down on the cranks in the effective higher gear area. So I get a tiny boost.

  • Schoolboy error last night- put my bid in with ~4 minutes to go, rather than my normal "wait until the last 10 seconds".

I was in the lead, at an amazing price for the SRM, and then someone else bid in the last 30 seconds.

    Boo.

  • Just tell yourself that their max bid was £100 higher than you wanted to go.

Did exactly that with a new Guru Geneo frameset I'd fallen in love with. Heavy and weird looking but I still fell for it. Still regret it.

  • That guru is honestly vile...

  • That guru is honestly vile...

I have terrible taste, and like my bikes 'interesting'.

  • Keeping it, then?

I reckon so! Waiting for some tyres and cables to turn up today :)

Looking forward to finding out all about it mate.

I wouldn't throw bricks, maybe pygmy trolls...

  • Maiden voyage, burst rear hopping up a kerb. Kewl dewd.

also finished my main bike a little while ago. Don't want to change anything, it's great
