^^ oh yeah. Sorry didn't refresh.
Fingers crossed they come through this time.
If not take it as fate and upgrade to some Stan's on bling hubs.
Yeah, it may end up like that!

Lovely looking and nice shots.
{ slack chain tho }

so close but for me it needs:
clipless
tighter chain
either bulls/pursuits or correct leversedit: and yes good effort on the photography!

abit dangerous is it not taking picture on a train track

Not if you're a fucking badass.

Also, really nice build, for some reason I'm not so keen on the stem, but apart from that, looks lovey! Particularly like the wound ups and the gumwa tyres look great too.

i don't like the low flange rims in comparison to those fat and bulging tubes

Yh but nice build man
Must have waited ages for the frame to arrive -

Hey look I built a bike that looks exactly like everyone else's bike.
Needs a better, inline seatpost and probably a seat-tube mounted bottle cage in place of that shite seat-mounted one, but generally it rides very nicely.
Big thanks to Tris/F34RTHEFIXED for the frame.

Negaatio, you should use a Cable hat (I don't know what it is in English)
One of these if you know what I mean, your brake cable doesn't seem to have one.

Cable hat is much nicer than ferrule, I'm going to use that from now on.

I thought ferrules were the bits that go on the end of cable outers, and that the metal bits you crimp onto the end of the inners were actually called caps or hats or something? Which is indeed a great term.
-
• #64442
Doesn't look like he has either to be fair.
But I think the cable tidy bits are crimps and the hats are ferrules.
-

What's in the picture nutsjesmoar linked are definitely crimps though. And they do look like hats, for robotic smurfs.

You're right, I didn't click the picture link. I'm on a roll of stupid posts this week.

A little tweak, saddle now approaching 'Full Gaston' and bars tipped slightly back to give 'fuller' hand contact. Shameless hipster-vision photos from my phone and that's quite possibly pig shit on the tyre. I will remove the reep from 'pics from mobile phones' thread shortly.

Finally got round to getting some longer cranks, got some silver Omniums in 170mm, from the 167.5mm I had previously, and boy does it feel better!
My pedaling stroke seems smoother and possibly easier, which considering I went up a tooth on the chainring is interesting (I'm not gonna get into the crank length argument, just stating first impression).
But has really made a difference that made my first ride last night a LOT more enjoyable.

Alkali - Is that a set of messenger cranks and ring on it? And whats going on with the tiny mudguard?!
Other than that, top marks.
Looks like a nice ride, and saddle position is in keeping with frame geometry.

AngelD - it is indeed a messenger crankset, on a 50yr old roadbike too, utterly unacceptable obviously, but functional and free. The 'shorty' mudguard is original and just protects the brake from grime, most old Holdsworths didn't have them, but mine does, though the front one was lost about 20 years ago, it's probably languishing in my parent's garage.
I intent to return it to it's rightful geared glory in the future, but it rides so nicely ss that I'm delaying the process.

How much do omniums go at used? more or less than sugino 75s? i think i prefer the srams but 75s come around more often
