If it's not stiff, then it's about to harden, then crack.
None of this is ideal.

Nutsjesmoar - Your (not)Look is looking great, it looks like everything was all made to be on that bike!
All ties together very nicely and makes a kick arse bike mate, well done.
If that frame was a size or two smaller, I'd be really jealous! ;P

1" carbon forks with plenty of steerer, that aren't completely gash are hard to come by.
I have seen roughly 5-7 nice sets come up on here in the last 18months.
I sold one of them and bought another.Pistoffski may have some or ebay
Cheers, I had the max bid on that, any recommendations of how high to go?
Also, it would be good to know which ones are completely gash to know what to avoid, as obviously the lower price points are what I'm currently looking at.

Was that raleigh a bay purchase? 80's track sprint-machine or HHSB?

columbus minimal. Best 1" carbon fork
-
• #63783
Yeah but £156 minimum, that's just not going to happen at the minute.
That's 156/260 of what I paid for the whole bike.

^ That Rossin is very nice. Simple, elegant, and tasteful. Good job Thrust!
Cheers AngelD.

^^Actually it's only £143.99 to Germany, Wiggle is great if you're abroad. Still more than I can afford though.

markairsy1 - Are those Casmpagnolo Omega Strada rims I see going to be built up for the Raleigh? Would look so good on that frame too. Seriously can't wait to see it finished!

well i have the Omega V's which wont be. they are another project on there own. just a wheelset project mind.
The 19's in the wrapping are 650's 28h and I am planning on using one of them with a soon to arrive 700c Strada 32h for the rear.
-
• #63791
That works.
I've just rebuilt my 36h Omega Strada V into new rear wheel and purchased another off of Miro_o for a(nother) new front to be built when I gets the hub and spokes.

where do these reductions come from?
Wiggle trying to buy market share, there are some big online discounters in Germany so they need to try a bit harder there.
-
• #63794
some very serious HHSB business going on in the background... well done =))

Hahaaa, cheers fella! Corima thanks to Tp88, loving the noise it makes and already set a good time on my 39km return commute. A nice 33kph average speed, not a pb but a goof effort after a weekend of indulgence. Bianchi is only on the velodrome and Raleigh is a bit of a mixed bag right now and not in is normal guise....been finished with bits from the parts bin.

Looks good, that was one of the ones that stood out so I was hoping it wasn't one that counted as being gash. Only £83.29 to Germany too...where do these reductions come from? Proximity to China?
Sumo rode it before me and then I rode it. You will struggle to find decent 1" forks with that size steerer - they just tend to have mostly been cut down by now.
Luckily I picked up a set of Easton EC 90sls from Pistoffski with 272mm of steerer - my bike has a long headtube. Toby.d went for brand new Wound Ups who still make 1" forks..

Also, my beater/town bike/neglected bike has had its rack confiscated, as it just wasn't behaving itself. Looks a bit less stately now, but hopefully sounds a bit less creaky. Fixed the back mudguard, which was swinging and rubbing, and is now fastening to the rear brake bridge by the one tiny bit of metal that remains of its fitting.
Bikes are shit

Are the omega v's 36 h? Can sellz me?
Also, is that your stable in the background, or do you live with a bunch of tall hipsters?

Cool, looks like the Tifosi one could be a good shout, I found this as well which works out at £70 posted, but while I've seen that website before I've not got a clue if it's any good.
Tifosi one is long axle to crown (380mm) so makes your clearances look a bit shit and will raise your front end compared to the Alpina... That one above looks better, do you know the measurement?
Scoble, have you ever ridden a Vitus aluminium bike? Not all aluminium is stiff! I agree in general though (but we shouldn't generalise).
