  • They are the silver ones btw, and other options are ksyrium elite, Cosmics, Easton ea70 and maybe some planet x 50 tubs.

  • silver dura ace 7801 would look sweet and are a very highly recommended wheel i've heard.

  • Why not just Mavic Aksiums?

  • anyway why is this conversation happening in HHSB thread? if you're getting low profile rims, chop chop to current projects )))))

    are they 36h?

Can you just sell to me?

  • ummmmm

  • I'm just not sure if silver would look odd with the stealthy look I have going on, and they are clinchers, would really prefer to race on tubs... Then there's the price, is 400 too much? With no tyres.

  • Why not just Mavic Aksiums?

They's going to be race wheels mayng ;)

  • I can also get a carbon powertap wheelset for about 550, but I think it's a little out of my budget/class.

    Training with power though....

  • Wheels cost more than rest of bike.

Dandy, I think you need to have a long hard look in the mirror...

  • Actually, that wheelset would be slightly cheaper than the frame and group, then when I get Ec90 forks and seatpost it will have evened out.

That's rich coming from Mr 900 quid njs bike..

  • Next project is going to be a Foffa HiPro with twin Hed3....

  • Why, you going to start timetrialling?

  • Yeap, building it especially for the Otley Run TT....

... might even fit a wine box to carry my "nutrition"

  • Lol at the above convo

  • Vitus project completed finally. Excuse the gaudy instagram :)
Gonna trim some cables down and get proper crank bolts plugs but other than that its pretty much finished. I drunkenly stickered the driveside ST wrong and the bartape is my first ever so it's a bit shoddy. Will probably redo the cockpit with a 3t ergo.

Unholy mix of record, chorus, athena and mirage. Campy wheels on mavic rims and a slightly too contemporary cockpit/saddle :D

Not in the least bit bothered by mix and match - this is a stunner.

  • pity about the bar tape

  • yeah does seem a bit "marshmallowy", did you pull it really tight erik?

    Lovely steed though!

  • More about the gaps, they can be a bit tricky at first. (I know they're become LFGSS standard now, but...) I think the Bontrager SSR bars would suit it better, and a 2nd chance at navigating the tape round those levers...

  • just needs a small 2 inche section of tape underneath, that's all.

  • Most bar tape comes with a lil' 3" strip to cover that area, but i usually just use a small 1cm square to cover the gap if there is one, then try use the rest as padding under the tape if possible.

  • Oh yeah, how did i miss the gap?

  • Hey Chris, saw your bid and just couldn't face the thought seeing it come past me one morning.;-) Its staying over here and going to a nice lad in Melbourne who wanted pretty much all of it complete, bar some parts i'm happy to hang onto. Saves me a lots of questions and fees, and happy it will be used more than it has this past year!

Mildly offended! but its fine. (not really offended).
Good to hear its gone to a good home... I was worried it would sell for half its value, a few good bikes have recently!

  • search for timbuk2

[Hangs head in shame] Thank you. Check your for sale thread.

Yeah, its tough to know over here as there is not such a big scene, but the prices that OTP bikes are is insane, so people out there do have money to spend. I've seen crap sell for too much, and nice stuff for peanuts. I got fair money for it, and i think we're both happy. Took it out today for a farewell and had 2 people ask if i'd be willing to sell! Does look nice in the sun cruising around Palm Beach though.

  • Have narrowed my search down to the Dura Ace wh7801 clincher and the Planet x 50mm tubs with Corsa evo cx.. I can't decide between them, I think the p-x maybe the best deal as they are cheaper than the da, ready to roll and are tubs, I could also use them for tt's and rr..

    Decisions decisions....

Am I being silly, are the da miles better?
