  • Didn't know EAI went with the Italians, so that's 4 options, of which 3 are worth having.

Beware of lock ring salesmen though - just looked on Ben's Cycles and they claim that Mavic lock rings fit Campag. They don't, Mavic are French and 33.0mm x 1mm pitch. Condor are just as bad - when I bought my Ellipses, they told me a Shimano lock ring would work, and having proven that it wouldn't fit at all they tried to sell me a Miche which rattled around like some bizarre musical instrument.

  • Heard alot of good about the Phil lockrings...

Any pointers where I can get a cheap one that will be quicker than 2-4 weeks? Cost from aspire is about £23... but a long wait.

  • I have EAI on a miche hub.

More info here. Hubjub don't seem to have them on their page any longer.

But EAI have some vague details on their site.

  • http://www.lfgss.com/thread86040.html Dont know if the last one sold or not.

  • Thanks for the link, have PMd.

Apologies for my ignorance, but are all Phil lockrings the threading?

  • My 4-coloured Pinarello

full Shimano 600 Ultegra Tricolore gruppo except Seatpost and Stem, but it fits the colors of the bike.
Dunno if i shall replace it with a Dura Ace 7400 maybe? Campagnolo? Suggestions?

Hawt. Don't change groupset. Just get a shimano sticker for top tube.

  • Also helped a mate sort this out... It came with the Record wheelset, I traded him my wheels... ...

    Sounds like a meme:

    "*Mate's new to cycling.

Got him to trade his campag record wheelset"*

    #scumbagsteve

    ;)

  • Not new to cycling, first fixed bike. You forgot the "wad of cash" I think we both got a fair deal anyway...

The "serious cyclist" that owned the bike before had the cones on the rear hub so tight the wheel barely spun. what a crank! Gave a quick strip and regrease and now lovely and smooth.

  • /attachments/54543My dawes 653 with 600 group. Nearly there just need matching wheelset and new saddle.

  • That is nice! But level the bars a bit more.

  • ok, so half past midnight, dark kitchen and myself quietly carrying half-built bikes around the apartment in order not to wake up the baby... nothing close to final build(s), but i thought i'd keep you guys updated on the progress

  • ^^^Well done man that's looking nice! I'd agree on the bar angle adjustment though

  • We've had our disagreements scorch, but fuck me you've got some nice bikes

  • thanks mate

i just checked my records... i repped you twice, you repped my once. what disagreements? =))

  • Damn you Scorch you barsteward!

You really do have some awesome bikes, so jealous.

  • Hawt. Don't change groupset. Just get a shimano sticker for top tube.

    this ^.

you could lose a couple of ounces with DA or Super Record stuff but there's nowt wrong with that group, and as if it's meant to be, the 3 colours are a match!

  • come to think of it, the grey 600 chainset would be a bit nicer. just maybe

  • Very nice too. Merckx needs LA84.

  • Nice hubs.
I want some of them, next.

  • I'm going for Royce next.

  • Very nice too. Merckx needs LA84.

Merckx needs some bigger rider, that's fo sho

  • scorch i can take it off your hands : )

sweet shimano seatpost/cranks on the bridge

  • just how big are you? =))

  • Scorch, is the seat post on the Bridgestone one of those Easton DA jobbies?

I nearly went for one, but heard that the head snapped off of a lot of them.

    Hows that one doing?

And joking aside, you do have some serious bike porn there mate.

  • seriously? those seatposts are considered the best imo, never had even one issue (and i own a few of them)
