Stripped the removing threads? You can still remove them without those threads and without damaging them.

How? It's probably a stupid question but I could do with this information!

• #62079
rubber mallet or an automotive tie rod splitter
-
• #62080
gear puller

or you could take the bolts out and ride them for a while

but at the end of the day, prob best to replace the crank arm. don't want to be whacking it off next time you want to service the BB.

....chain ever come off? i'm just asking, as i run 1x10, have had no problems so far. know some people would not advise this without a bash guard and deda dog fang.
^^ It depends on your chainline, chain tension and other things. Make sure your B screw is set right.
im not saying its like riding down a dirt road, but i do hit potholes and have to swerve out of very uneven surfaces. just swapped to a 1/10 gear set up. would it be best to have bash guard ect.......the answer seems to be no......
I'd get a single speed 3/32 chainring for the front, before worrying about a bash guard. They won't be designed for slipping the chain off in the way normal road rings are. Also what miro says.

This.
^^ You hardly ever service a BB unless you buy an expensive adjustable anyway.
^^^ Taking the bolts out and riding it will damage it, not much but enough. Even if you only just do it until you can feel it's loose

Ok. I haven't got a work stand or a rubber mallet to hand so this is going to be a bit of a pain in the arse isn't it! I'm not to worried about the bb as that isn't being transferred to the new bike. Everything else is done and the only thing I'm missing is the cranks to finish this damn thing.

true, but if you're changing cranks anyway and don't have access to a gear puller then it does work.
-
• #62089
^^ Can you not just leave them on the old frame then?
If you're now going to have to buy new cranks for the new frame is it worth moving them?
-
• #62090
Yeah that's what I'm thinking of doing now. Just wanted to know if there was any hope of resolving the problem.
-
• #62091
I use something that seems to be called a 'ball joint separator', it usually gets cranks off without much damage to the cranks, doesn't always work but usually worth a try.

Does anyone have an opinion on Shimano revoshift shifters?
I think they might be the solution to getting both brake & gear levers to fit on my nitto promenade bars. Currently I have rapid fires UPSIDE DOWN which is hardly practical but the only way they would fit.
I have always been weary of gripshifts, but that is because is probably because of cheap sram versions that come on BSO's. I used to work in a bike shop and kids used to destroy the sram ones very quickly, not durable at all and also feel horrible to shift.
There is even a combo version!

Find more, you have to get a set of omniums surely. Extra matchy matchy!

I ordered some parts for this one;
- Some simple risers and some black keirin grips to cover them
- A 3ttt pro chrome stem (100mm)
- 2 NOS gummwall tires (cheap, just to check out how it looks)
And I hope wednesday the post will bring a package which contains a Spengle Giro 3 frontwheel.
And maybe I'll try to go over the brake surface on the real wheel with a black marker. - Some simple risers and some black keirin grips to cover them

My 4-coloured Pinarello
Looks bare buff-ting.
That means 'the thing in question looks very pleasing, aesthetically speaking'.

I just managed to strip the threads and fuck up my Stronglight 2000s. I've posted a wanted ad but has anyone reading this got something spare? They need to fit on a sugino 75 bb and I have a 144bcd chain ring if someone would like to donate crank arms without a chain ring.
Kthxbye.
