does the Caygill have braze-ons on the down-tube for gears?
-

Bars from tommmmmmmmmm and grips from b'jammin provide a surprisingly comfortable position for future track visits...
Oh yeah, and layback post gives more room, will be back to inline when I get base bars back on.

For a minute I thought it had a front disc brake...
Yeah, it's a shit pic shameful
Be good if I did have a disc brake, would save me from ruining those rims.does the Caygill have braze-ons on the down-tube for gears?
Yes, it does. It's a converted road frame, so perfect for a SS, or internal fixed hub down the line, maybe.

The wheels on your Caygill look awesome, B!

• #61286

-
• #61287
gonna send an offer to mr njs export fuck it.
-
• #61288
It's a time-trial frame not a converted road frame? Rear-facing ends are common on TT bikes.
Yeah, sure but there's no sign of a hanger being removed from current dropouts. I think the original owner had it converted later on. TiLover contacted him (mentioned here) when it was on eBay and I was going on that. It wasn't re-spaced though, so not sure what it was being used for?

And sorry Regal, saddle is dead comfy I'll be keeping it on there.

Didn't I only post those yesterday?
Nice one Royal Mail. They look great as well.
Unfortunately (perhaps) I won the auction for the Deda Pista bars, it was a really good price in the end, so I'm going to try them and the 40cm Planet-X bars and see which ones I prefer.

Brakeset fitted to the Caygill. Just gonna have a few rides to figure out lever positioning on the 'tash bars, then wrap 'em up (thinking it deserves leather) Excuse the phone pic...
A Brooks Swallow Ti and new Headset down the line to finish up.
How long is your upper body? Isn't that the bike Doktor P was selling with a 60cm TT, and now you've put bars on it where all the reach is forwards!
-
• #61292
No more BLB bars :P?
Do you sell the Rolls? or was it all messed up after it was stolen.
nah its time for road bars. 10000x more comfortable. and still got the rolls. you want? only thing that got messed up after it was stolen was the rear tyre and bottom bracket.

Hah, yeah that's the one. That build has grown out of parts I had kicking about (plus a few swaps) and that was the only quill stem/bar combo to hand. The fit is fine and there's a lot of different positions on those bars, but yes the far reach position to the hoods is fair, but actually only a cm more than my usual reach to hoods on drops, hard to compare exactly as its a different position.
I like the bars, but could look at a cm shorter stem at some point. It was only suppose to be a run-around town bike, nothing for serious miles. -

Finally got both my camera and Omnium working at the same time!
Getting used to brakeless on SPDs is... interesting, waiting for front brake to turn up.
Sticking with risers till I get bit more used to it, but got a set of Syntace bullhorns and Deda pista drops to try out.
Really enjoying it though, so might stay with risers, wait and see I guess.
Campy Vento front wheel, and Campy Omega rim laced to old Atom hub at rear for the mo.
Have ordered a Shimano 600 aero seat post to replace piece of crap crabon affair and match the DA cranks and ring.
