Haha cheers! He probably would have, it was an impulse thing though. I don't mind paying a little bit of a premium if it means I get exactly what I want, and to deal with Peter.
thanks. wouldn't have dropped it any further though!
you did a lovely job, praying for sunshine!!

one tiny nick
is this enough to make the frame a write orf?
Here?
I would file that out very gently and carefully with a round file, adjusting the surrounding lug slightly to maintain a smooth curve. It will be under a lot of stress when tightened and if left as is could easily propogate into a nasty crack.

I'm trying to get my quill stem to go further into the headtube however it just won't go down anymore- its a good few inches from the bottom of the headtube and cant see anything prevent it going further down.
What am i doing wrong?

Not hitting it hard enough

Reading Slam That Stem and taking it too seriously.

some forks are tapered internally.
if so the only thing you can do is chop a slice off the bottom of the stem as i have done here:

At last won an eBay auction.
Hoping for full Italian build.

• #61035
why? Don't you have that team Rapha Condor?
-
• #61036
Incidentally if I'm correct in thinking this right, the Rapha Condor is more italian than the Bianchi.

Possibility of brazing pin protruding into headtube? How old is the frame?

Why because I want to,and don't really fancy trusting the transport, bringing the bikes back from Manchester Paris charity ride, with my Rapha.

Why because the condor frame Is made in Italy, and Bianchi in Taiwan.

Wondering if anyone can help?
I've just got a lovely Syntace Stratos handle bar and desperately trying to find a 26mm - 31.8mm handlebar shim!
I'd found them out there, notably Gusset do a pretty good one, but as I tried to order one I found that everyone was out of stock including Gusset themselves, and will be until july at the earliest.
So, not wanting to buy another stem at 26mm, PLEASE does anyone by any chance have a 26.0-31.8mm shim in their odds and sods draw?!

Just picked this up, 653 frame, mostly Dura Ace, Campag brakes and levers for some reason. Never ridden a regal before as not keen on the looks, seems quite comfortable though. Not sure whether to stick some of those Bontrager SSR bars on before I retape... Bike is immaculate though, had never been ridden in the rain, till today...
Facepalm
But nice bike
