  • ^^^ Needs pics of someone riding it!

  • I've got one before I changed the bars. Turning circle was large due to knee/bar collision. Much better with the new bars

  • ^^^why no shot of the whole thing :(

  • So picked this off the bay and trying to figure out what to do with it. First thing is to get the stuck seatpost out! Emailed Mercian to see if they knew who P. Jackson was/is

Have a Campy headset so that is a start

It's to be used for this: http://www.facebook.com/events/249844248363636/

Which looked like this a few years ago: http://vimeo.com/13359955

Anything but a mountainbike. Rider with the most "suitable" bike rides the dreaded purple GT Dyno cruiser the following year.

I think it's a bike. Not sure though

  • I was thinking about changing the gearing on my Fuji track, I was thinking of swapping out the chainring, from a 46 tooth to a 42, (the chainring on it at the moment is the stock one and I was looking to upgrade it anyway) do you think I will notice a difference between 46 and 42 teeth with a 16t sprocket? Also, what chainrings should I be looking at? I don't want to spend much money if possible and would prefer something in black. I'm also not fussy about new or second hand.

I assumed your vision would get sucked into the black hole

  • what happens if you put a black hole next to a black hole?

  • Itc, get a cog one size bigger, this is all.

  • ^^ you get a bigger black hole. However, they are not much like other objects they are really quite difficult to just 'put'.

you just need some black hole tongs (BHT™)

Rabbit fixed gear calculator should help: http://software.bareknucklebrigade.com/

as ed said, rear cog is easier and cheaper to change. DA are good and well priced (available from Condor), but they probably don't go high enough. Condor own brand have also served me well.

    You will probably have a 1/8 chain/ring/cog rather than a 3/32.

Remember to use grease on the threads when changing them.

Search for the rotafix method for installation.

It wouldn't be any bigger as the centre of a black hole is described as a "singularity". The event horizon may seem to be further from the black hole, but the actual point at which the mass is concentrated will not grow in size.

yeah, I was thinking it might be easier to get a new sprocket, which I have done with other bikes in the past, but I was looking to upgrade my chainring anyway so thought I might be able to go for a two birds, one stone type scenario.

  • and thanks, that calculator's really helpful, I've looked at the sheldon brown one, but it's all a bit technical for me, being able to see the number of skid patches is helpful as well so I can calculate how often I can afford to show off my sik skidz to my hipster pals.

That Look is phenomenal. I'd seen catalogue shots of it but never a 'real' one. Assumed it was so excessive nobody ever bought one.

  • maths is so odd, 3 skid patches for my current ratio, but drop one tooth and i get 18

  • 48 tooth chainring? 47, 49 or 53 is the jagged stairway to tyre wear heaven....
