New 'bars, a freshly adjusted saddle and a nice sunny day with bread, brie and cider as a reward...
Sounds bloody lovely that does!
Also makes me miss the orchards of Kent, where I used to work on the orchards and presses for the Kent Cider Company (if you ever get a chance to try their selection, I highly recommend it. proper high quality and their spiced is divine!).
Oh happy memories... although quite a few were slightly drunk at the end of the day! -

Just acquired a bob jackson track frame. What would be considered proper to dress it in? With origins from the island so to say
-
• #59054
You're kidding, the frame sizing look identical to mine which is why I thought it was a 54cm
It was sold to me second hand as a 56... haven't actually measured it. Probably should!
-
• #59055
Precise measurements:
TT- 56.5cm CTC
ST- 58.5cm CTT, 55cm CTCI'm after a 56.5 TT alu beast for critting into the ground. Curious.

^Ha! I'll believe that when I see it!.... Do it though, you would smash Hillingdon (4's anyway).... It's awesome fun too!
In other news, I finished this just in time for the omnium at HH today....

Alu is the way to go. A few people rolling round on over £4k of bike in the cat 4. Wouldn't want to risk that myself.

I've got what benjam would term a 'proper race bike', but there's no way that's going anywhere near anyone else in a competitive capacity until I can trust people not to snap it in two. I want something disposable, and have some carbon that would do the job for now but something less shattery would put the mind at ease...

^Sounds interesting... it's about time you started racing. Good luck and so on! Is the new alu build the one that's getting Sram Force?
-
• #59064
SRAM force is going to go on the giant, but I need someone to buy the ultegra before it's feasible. Financially none of this is realistic, of course, so I don't have to worry about rAcing for a while...
-
• #59065
Ah. I'd help you out on the ultegra front, but, it's a triple, so not for me.

Chinese carbon on PX hubs.

Looking really good Rob, how does it ride?
-
• #59069
Real nice. The wheels are super stiff. Dov did a sweet build on them.
Everything else is the same as last season (bar the paintjob, of course) -
• #59070
Don't forget to grease your pedal threads.

DuraAce (from the island of Honshu)
-
• #59072
It would be but Not necessary, you can try and get a ultegra compact thought.
Whats the difference? -
• #59073
Because it's not a triple? the Ultegra crankset are reasonably stiff too.

Yeah, I moved back from Canterbury beginning of last year, my local was The Hob Goblin, before they betrayed us and changed ownership!
Our orchards were outside of Faversham.
It's a small cider producer, but a very good one, we won two national awards within our first couple of years and have had a spread in the weekend section of the Times.
If you're interested, look em up online, they do an ordering and delivery service.

I liked the Hobgoblin, mainly for the music, but only made rare forays there.
Great summer bike.
