Depends whether you consider your death a serious issue.

Thanks. Never thought of that even though i've used these for quite a while.
Also, an advantage to having both quick release on the brake and levers is that it give ample cable length to allowed easier removal of the wheel with bigger tyres (the quick release on the brake still don't leave enough room to removed a 32c tyres).

Would you try to jam a 27.8mm seatpost into a 531 seat tube?
-
• #58106
point taken :D
-
• #58107
You can't take the face off a seat tube.
-
• #58108
You can't take your face off if a seat tube cracks

LOL. Good one tester...

And the soma bars will get ruined, so does your stem. It won't fit perfectly so in the end you only will regret doing it.

cool cool
haven't installed, just wondering. won't.

ok so here it goes for those who can't sleep during the night and wonder what bike the reeen haz to get around on. the faggin savagely taken, the motör reeen not strong enough and so a contender had to emerge, that truly keeps me out of breath...
yes, oh hell yes! limited edition Kagero Frame set designed by pedalconsumption, made by leader.quite a few customisations went into that one as well. i de-stickered the cinelli seatpost, deda zero stem wit ti hardware upgrades for stem/seatpost and clamp, custom powdercoated omniums, some sweet ceramic bearing upgrades thrown in together with a beautiful smooth mavic cosmic wheel and it came to life. i don't like to talk so much about the hand polished cinelli pista bars. nobody can give me these hours back ;) and lastly theft prevention in all allen key sockets.
i hope you like it as much as i do.

• #58113
That is very nicely done.
-
• #58114
hey thanks. it came together well. astonishing how well considered i chose all parts for the motör reeen. i just needed a new stem and silver bars really to make it work.

26mm soma bars with 25.4 thomson stem
any serious issues there?
just saw responses to that,
jesus christ, this forum is really getting more and more retarded.rode that setup [25.4 clamp stem with removable face plate + 26mm bars] for over 6 months on my commuter, nothing happened.
don't worry, you will be fine. -

If it's a 25.4mm bar on a 26mm stem, then that'd be okay, but the other way is a big no-no.

Lovin it Reeen, very nice.
What rim is that on the back?
I'm in the process of gathering parts for my Giant Omnium frame project which I'm trying to keep similarly visually simple too, just hope its anywhere near as stunning as yours!
Although mine will be a weird kinda mix of HHSB and rat parts, I think it'll work.
Am kinda pissed that you're using that Mavic Cosmic (?) front wheel, as I've just got a Campag Vento front that looks damn close! :P

Busy week. -

Figured out that the seat has moved back. The bolt wasn't overly tight (not lose, just not really tight). It's set back now.
Also that seatpost is an MTB one and has a bit more layback than normal ones, and if your hands are on the tops it's equivalent to having a straight bar on a short stem, so will push you back a bit more. Those bonty bars are only about 70mm reach so putting drop levers on will bring you forward but not stretch you out like the profiles
I'm thinking of getting a pair of those drops for my touring project

Latest project.... bought this on here for cheap, and it's price reflected it's condition! Going to need a bit of work and a close inspection damage wise but should build up into a fun run about for a girl.
Plan is SS and only a rear brake, the same as the bikes I built for my GF and sister, what are peoples thoughts on that?
-
• #58123
two things show us the dent and is it drilled for a rear?

Based on the knowledge of such setups I've gained from this forum, I think there is a 100% chance you will die, horribly. I'll be praying for your GF and sister tonight.

The dent is REALLY bad... and it's not drilled for the rear... yet... (if this was something more prestigious and/or in better condition I wouldn't be drilling it, although if anyone has any plates I would be interested).
