RE those shifters.
There are a few like that. Are they indexed? If so how many gears? 7 I'd imagine. My Dad has some like that but less plasticy.
I'd love to know how well they work.
I reckon they're Suntour (accushift):
Been looking into these for my touring build. Less prone to knocks than bar-end shifters and (probably) more reliable than brifters. They do look a bit odd - can anyone compare them to downtube shifters?

Corima arrived, and new stem. I ordered a 0 rise stem but they sent a 10*.... think i'm better off with the 10 so will keep it.... Need to make some changes tomorrow, will get better photo then. Thinking I'll desticker the spokk, swap the gator to the back and put a slick on the front. I've got another wheelset on the way, so the rear will be losing the MSW and getting a loprofile mavic CD on paul hub.
For now...

Nice bike!
Do a potatochop of it with all the stickers removed, I think the whole bike will look cleaner.

Well as i said before i only rode like 2 miles with them, but i was mostly testing the gears
The thing i found awkward was every time you change gear you have to move your hand in a different way, confusing trying to figure out if you should put your hand over or under the bar or to use your thumb or fingers, doesn't seem like an obvious way to use them if that makes sense? maybe if you had some time to get used to them they would be okay, but just okay, reliable though.

Do it, Need to black out that braking surface on the back wheel to, a good permanent marker should do the trick

My girlfriends been whinging about her bike recently (quite rightly too, it's a piece of shit). So I thought I'd build her one. She's had a blast on my bike which is an SE Lager but didn't find it very comfortable. Does anyone have any ideas on a frame/saddle/bars for more of a relaxed comfortable ride? Even better if you're selling any parts like this.
Just take a step through with nice 700s and put on sit up and beg handlebars.
I've build one for a friend of mine, and she found it comfy.
Also did the trick for my wife, although we had to leave the bike behind. -

thus is the power of correct lighting

Think it looks good with the 10 degree stem. Seems in proportion.
If you get that saddle level it'll look less HHSB but more fasterer. Innit.

Cheers, yeah think the stem looks alright, saddle is at that angle due to my epididdyoschitis... less ball ache wins over aesthetics any time for me (:
