It arrived today, sooner than expected!
The fork has a lamp braze-on, so I'm assuming this isn't a true track fork. It's not drilled, but has been cast with an outline showing where to drill. Makes me wonder about the frame... It's been rattle-canned silver at some point, probably to tidy it up. I'm not bothered about this, as it leaves me free to either strip it bare or rattle-can it myself.
Happy enough so far. I just want to see some wheels on it and go from there. Headset hasn't seen grease in many years I suspect. Feels totally dry and grindy.

it is indeed!
by the time i'd collected it from mr goff the lad had outgrown it and both daughters are already sorted, ah well.
one thing I would say is that it wouldn't suit someone with a 'muscular' riding style as it is a flexy frame
Yep, I wouldn't advise getting a track frame made from an Air tubeset, they are quite flexy.. Sprinting uphill is an odd feeling..
That is very tasty though.

I will get a pic next time she passes... I am sure someone will 'antiporn' it - but a least it get's ridden daily 8-)
That's what counts!
Will look at the weather tonight and decide whether it's the century on saturday or chilling ride east with you sunday..

I'll have to have a look later Steve!

On closer inspection, the fork is drilled. I'm assuming it's a standard fork that's been added at some point.
Depends if I can get it home tonight or not Blake! Will see what I can sort out :)

in a previous life:
I much prefer this build. Crazy saddle to bar drop though even for the track.

I haven't ridden eggbeaters but have heard stories of them releasing... I've been riding atac aliums for a while and would definitely reccomend them.
Are those airwings? Looks awesome with combined slamdatstem and those bars.
I don't think I'm strong enough to pull out of them when climbing or sprinting, like sheathy and other people have said, but but I've had them release when skidding before... including once on the way down Highgate Hill. Plus I want something that feels a bit more secure and with some platform.
Stem might come up a little but I bought wide bars (42cm, actually wider than my shoulders) thinking they would be more comfortable for just riding around town and it seems I was right.

With those 'wings' and that paint.
It's never going to be tasteful, so why not fun and fast?

Just bought these in the hope that the paint will polish off so that they can go on my brushed alloy frame set. Anyone no the best way to polish them?

I got the bars on with the penny trick the other day.
Still think tt is a bit too long for me, but might be getting used to and I will tilt the bars a bit more.To do:
- de-sticker rims.
- find some DA levers once I have the money.
- put on Fi'zik bartape.
- try to give the crankset a finish that matches the seatpost (Scotchpad?).
- might start looking for a 80mm Cinelli XA stem, as I don't really like the look of the Eclipse on this bike and like I said, 90mm still feels a bit too long.. (anyone?)
- Gum side-walled tires - opinions?
- de-sticker rims.

^what he said.
I used them once, they released when I was climbing up Ditchling beacon... lost all rhythm and nearly got hit by a van. Don't think I would recommend them.
